- Kilmeade warned that cooperating with Russia would be a major mistake for Trump.
Tensions flared on Fox & Friends Weekend on Sunday (October 11) as hosts Brian Kilmeade and Rachel Campos-Duffy clashed over President Donald Trump‘s suggestion that it may be time to replace Ukraine’s President, Volodymyr Zelensky.
“I know you’re a big fan of Zelensky, but yesterday the president said, maybe it’s time for an election, a new leader in Ukraine,” Campos-Duffy told Kilmeade, per Mediaite. “Because he keeps blowing up the refineries… and it’s hurting President Trump and the administration, who has been very generous towards him and his war efforts.”
Kilmeade argued that Trump is just “ticked off” because Zelensky disagreed with the president’s deal to import Russian diesel. The conservative news anchor said it’s understandable for Zelensky to be frustrated when this deal means money is “going to flow into Russia, who started this whole war unprovoked.”
“They are the bad guys. And there’s no way Zelensky turned down any plausible deal,” Kilmeade added. “There’s one person who’s responsible. Vladimir Putin… that is it. And he’s getting his a** kicked.”

Campos-Duffy defended Trump’s deal with Putin, saying, “I think that there’s a reason that the president is buying the diesel from Russia…”
“Well, we need diesel,” Kilmeade interjected.
“And that’s because Zelensky keeps blowing it up,” Campos-Duffy continued.
“Can you blame him?” Kilmeade shot back. “That’s the war machine that’s killing his people, that bombs apartment buildings…”
“But he’s dependent on us, and the president said, Don’t do it,'” Campos-Duffy retorted.
Kilmeade went on to praise Ukraine’s war efforts, commending their use of drone technology to fend off a much bigger and more powerful country.
“I’m not so sure that’s a positive, Brian. I mean, there are 30,000 young men on each side that are dying every single month,” Campos-Duffy argued. “We should not be practicing drone, you know, technology, and using these kids as Guinea pigs.”
“What kids?” Kilmeade asked.
“The soldiers!” she replied. “These are young men…”
“Rachel, this is in response to attacks,” Kilmeade responded. “They’re getting rocketed, so they found a way to out-drone.”
Campos-Duffy reiterated that President Trump said he wanted peace in Ukraine, causing Kilmeade to fire back, “Tell Vladimir Putin!”
“Well, because of what Zelensky is doing, we’re probably going to get peace there because President Trump is now working with Russia because Zelenskyy is so arrogant!” Campos-Duffy stated.
“It would be the biggest mistake of his administration to work with Russia,” Kilmeade added. “That is the modern Hitler of our generation. He is the cause of all the problems in the region.”
