Former WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton fell from the top of a ladder during a spot and fans are worried about her health and safety following the ordeal.

During the WWE Money in the Bank match that took place in New Orleans on Saturday, October 10, Stratton climbed to the top of a high ladder to deliver a signature move where she flips off the ladder onto a group of three competitors who were waiting below.

However, the stunt went awry as soon as Stratton launched. Various camera angles show that the ladder jerked violently as she jumped due to instability, which caused her to fall short of her targets and slam hard onto her head and neck and was seen clutching the back of her head in pain.

On a video shared from a WWE fan account, users expressed their concern for the 27-year-old wrestler. “Send all them idiots back to NXT for some catching lessons,” one user wrote, while another commented: “No one protected her.”

Some comments even suggested that Stratton falling and not being caught by her fellow competitors is something that’s happened before. “She needs to stop agreeing to these spots if no one is ever catching her like it’s crazy at this point,” one comment read, while another said:  “She needs to stop doing these spots because they have a horrible track record of not catching her. She’s going to get seriously hurt.”

Medical staff on site rushed to evaluate Stratton and was cleared to continue competing. Despite the scary impact, she scaled the ladder once again to win the coveted briefcase and made history as the first two-time winner of the Women’s Money in the Bank competition.

After the match, Stratton admitted that the victory came at a physical cost.

“My neck still hurts, but I wanted to do anything it took to get that briefcase,” she said after the terrifying moment, adding that she pushed through the pain because she wanted to finish what she started.

While users on social media seemed to blame the wrestlers on the mat for failing to break her fall, wrestling analyst Bryan Alvarez said on Wrestling Observer Radio that structural mechanics could be the culprit, noting that jumping off the side of the ladder rather than the direction of its legs caused the equipment to instantly slide out from under her, which he said was a recipe for a dangerous physics trap.

After winning the briefcase back in 2024, Stratton has secured her path to a championship match at next year’s WrestleMania though fans are most likely hoping for a safer journey to the grand stage.
