Kotb has been booked and busy since stepping down from her anchor role on Today in January 2025. Over the past year, she has released her latest book, made several guest appearances on Today, and kept her promise to prioritize her kids, Haley and Hope. Most notably, Kotb launched her wellness company, Joy 101, and has hosted several events for fans.
On Wednesday, September 16, Kotb revealed that Shriver will be joining her for her newest Joy 101 event. “Hoda and I have been friends for years and years and years, and we’re always talking about our friendship and how important our friendship is,” Shriver told fans in an Instagram video. “At The Sunday Paper, we did a whole summer on friendship and how to make friends, how to break up with friends, work friends, sibling friends, friends of the opposite sex. And people were like, ‘I need more friends.’”
She went on to share, “We wanted to make a major league announcement: that we are going on tour, and we’re announcing The Friendship Tour. That’s right. Hoda and Maria and all the friends we can muster up, we’re gonna take it on the road. We’re doing our very first one on Sunday, November 2, in New Jersey, and tickets are going on sale as we speak.”
Teasing the tour, Shriver said, “We’re gonna have fun, we’re gonna have special guests, we’re gonna bring hope and inspiration and joy and meaning. And we’re gonna tell you how to be a friend, how to find a friend, how to find your lighthearted people, and build a community so that you aren’t alone, so that you don’t feel lonely, so that your health is better, your outlook is better. And we are so excited.”
