‘The View’: Whoopi Goldberg Sends Message to Trump Over Kennedy Center

Whoopi Goldberg had a message for Donald Trump on Wednesday’s (September 16) live episode of The View, and she shared it not once, but twice.

In the first “Hot Topic” discussion of the day, the panelists reviewed footage of FBI Director Kash Patel having a very surreal hearing at the Capitol to review topics like the upcoming midterm elections and the lowered standards for agent qualifications to now allow for incidences of bestiality, of all things.

After her cohosts discussed the clips, an exasperated Goldberg declared, “I want all of this insanity to stop! I’m sick of it. I’m sick of it. I’m sick of it. Republicans are sick of it. Democrats are sick of it. Independents are sick of it. I want to get back.”

She then directed her comments to Trump, saying, “Listen, you cannot have the Kennedy Center, man. It’s not yours. It is never [going to be]. Fix the war. Forget the building. Fix the war. Fix the economy. Stop trying to move stuff out of museums and stop it! Will you just pay attention to the American people? Can you just do that?”

Something similar happened during the second segment, which discussed the latest news about the Kennedy Center and Trump’s demand to have his name put back on it after a court order to remove it, and his handpicked board’s decision to close it.

Alyssa Farah Griffin likened Trump’s reported behavior during a call on the matter to “a kid taking her ball and going home and storming off,” but Goldberg countered with, “But this is somebody else’s ball! This is somebody else’s memorial. This is like putting a label on their thing.”

Later in the discussion, Goldberg finished that thought, saying, “I have to be very careful when I point this out. The presidents on Mount Rushmore were carved after their lifetime. Kennedy was assassinated… It’s like you’re asking to put your name on somebody’s grave. What are you doing? Go to work!”

When Griffin said he should focus on issues the American people care about, like the economy, Goldberg agreed, saying, “Yes, and people would be happy if you did.”

When Joy Behar, who also described Trump as a “malignant narcissist” and “scary” in the same conversation, then said, “Why are you saying that as if he’s capable of that?” Goldberg said, “Because miracles happen, don’t they?”
