Mike Farrell penned a heartfelt tribute to his wife, Shelley Fabares, following her death at 82.
On Monday, August 24, Farrell, 87, took to Instagram to confirm the heartbreaking news in a statement alongside Fabares’ family. “It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Shelley Fabares, who died Saturday, August 22, in Los Angeles surrounded by those who loved her,” the message began.

I'm not sure I ever knew they were married. (How about that, a nice quiet long-term marriage in Hollywood!) Yes, I remember her in a number of roles, I know she lived a long and well-lived life.

I am just two years younger and followed her career. I’m so sad to hear of her passing. Does anyone remember she was Nanette Fabray’s niece. I also remember she and Annette were best friends.

I can still remember watching the Donna Reed show and her singing her hit song Johnny Angel. She was always wonderful to watch on the screen.

Just a beautiful tribute and so well said. Ferrell and his two children lost his ex-wife and their mother within the last few years so Shelley's loss hits especially hard. Ferrell truly did marry " the girl next door". A life well lived. R.I.P. Shelley.

I thought she had been on Family Affair, but it was actually the show Brian Keith did after that: The Little People, where they played father-daughter pediatricians in Hawaii.
