Gypsy-Rose Blanchard Reveals Why Daughter Calling Her ‘Mommy’ Was ‘Healing’

Gypsy-Rose Blanchard is healing from her trauma. The Life After Lock Up star shared why hearing her daughter call her “mommy” for the first time was healing for her.
“For so much of my life, the word ‘Mommy’ carried a meaning that was complicated and painful for me. I knew motherhood would give that word a new meaning, but I don’t think I was prepared for what it would feel like to actually hear my daughter call me Mommy,” she wrote on Instagram on August 17.
Blanchard shared a video of her daughter, Aurora, saying “dada.” She tried to get her to say “mama,” but it didn’t work.
Then, at 18 months, Aurora once again said “dada” while sitting at a table. Over the video, Blanchard wrote, “Heart started silently breaking.”
At 19 months old, Blanchard tried again. She said “mommy” as her daughter sat on the couch. Aurora very slowly said “mom-my” and Blanchard cheered.

“I carried her, brought her into this world, and have had the privilege of watching her grow into this beautiful little person. At 19 months old, hearing that tiny voice finally say ‘Mommy’ hit a place in my heart I can’t fully explain,” she continued.
“Motherhood has given me the opportunity to experience that word from the other side, to make it mean love, safety, comfort, patience, and home. Some moments are bigger than they look. To everyone else, it may just be a new word. To me, it felt like healing. #gypsyroseblanchard #motherhood.”
She shares Aurora Raina Urker with her boyfriend, Ken Urker. Aurora was born in December 2024. In March, Blanchard shared a video of Aurora taking her first steps.
In 2015, Blanchard’s then-boyfriend Nicholas Godejohn killed Dee Dee after she spent years of faking her daughter’s medical conditions and diagnoses. Blanchard pleaded guilty to second-degree murder for her involvement in the scheme to have Dee Dee killed. She was released from prison in 2023.

When are you people going to stop platforming this convicted murderer and racist? The prison phone calls that have come out have Gypsy saying that she's proud to be a racist and she said some very nasty things about her sister's boyfriend and her sister! Not to mention the fact that her ex husband Ryan Anderson should be investigated because on one phone call he told her that he did something in front of a child but she forgave him in one day! She also tells Ken on another phone call that she didn't murder her mother just to get out of prison and have somebody else tell her what to do with the rest of her life!
Seriously, who does she have in her pocket that you guys keep promoting her like this!? And have you ever wondered why it took so long for her daughter to call her mama? Because she doesn't have any connection with her! Gypsy is more concerned about her social media status, her celebrity status, and how many followers she has as well as what she looks like, and her daughter is her very last and least concern!
There are multiple phone calls of her calling people the N word, and there are multiple phone calls of her talking to a man named Brian who got arrested for explosives and CSAM in 2020!! She's also admittedly lied to the people who published her book that's full of lies on these phone calls, and she's also talking about how to sidestep the law so that she can make a lot of money when it convicted murderer should not be allowed to make any money off of their crime!
