Jonathan Scott Announces Exciting New Project Away From HGTV

While Jonathan Scott is best known for his TV work, he’s taking a break from the small screen for his latest project.

The Property Brothers star took to Instagram on Friday, August 14, to announce his brand-new book. “Decades of renovations. Thousands of questions from homeowners. More than a few ‘why didn’t anyone tell me that before I started’ moments,” he wrote. “I put it all into one book, so you don’t have to learn the hard way.”

Scott added, “The Ultimate Renovation Planner and Organizer comes with worksheets, checklists, expert advice, and pockets for all the paint samples and contracts you’re about to collect. Your renovation begins 1/26/27. Pre-order now, link in bio.”

The post featured a photo of the book’s cover, which features Scott. Fans shared their excitement in the comments section, with one user writing, “I bought my first house over two years ago. I’ve been so overwhelmed and unsure where to start when it comes to projects and updates. Something tells me this book is just what I need. Ordering now!”

A different person posted, “WOW Jonathan! I was so happy to hear you have a new book coming out soon! I am anxiously waiting to get a copy of it! I know that it will be amazing! Everything that you do is so awesome!” A separate commenter stated, “We need a book like this—very good.”

Jonathan is no stranger to the publishing world, as he and his twin brother, Drew Scott, have released a few books over the years, including 2016’s Dream Home: The Property Brothers’ Ultimate Guide to Finding & Fixing Your Perfect House and 2017’s It Takes Two: Our Story.

The duo has also ventured into children’s books, releasing Builder Brothers: Big Plans and Builder Brothers: Better Together in 2018 and 2019, respectively.

Jonathan and Drew became household names thanks to HGTV‘s Property Brothers, which premiered in 2011. The series has spawned several spinoffs over the years, including Property Brothers at Home, Property Brothers: Forever Home, Brother vs. Brother, Chasing the West, Celebrity IOU, and Property Brothers: Under Pressure.

Jonathan’s upcoming book marks his latest solo project without Drew. In June, Jonathan announced he’s working on a daytime talk show titled Better! With Jonathan Scott. CBS Media Ventures developed the series, but it has not officially been greenlit for a fall 2027 syndication release.

Jonathan shared a behind-the-scenes photo of himself on the show’s set via Instagram later that month. “What just a year ago seemed like a dream, has now become a reality,” he captioned the June 29 snap. “Had the most incredible time shooting the pilot for my talk show. I am SO thankful for my incredible team and guests who made it magical. Stay tuned.”
