Fox News anchor Jesse Watters is facing the heat from viewers after being called out for “lying” about the reason for his on-screen absence.
Watters, who regularly hosts Jesse Watters Primetime and The Five, is currently on hiatus, having previously told viewers he would be away “on assignment.” However, it appears that “assignment” included a family vacation and a trip to a golf tournament.
Fans called Watters out after his wife, Emma, shared a family snap on her Instagram page on Tuesday (August 11). The photo showed Watters posing with his wife and his twin daughters from his first marriage, Sophie and Ellie, as well as the two children he shares with Emma, Jesse Jr. and Georgina.
Emma captioned the post “LIV,” suggesting the family was at the LIV Golf Invitational Series in Bedminster, New Jersey. Users soon flooded the comment section with reactions, with many slamming Watters for “lying” to viewers about why he was currently absent from Fox News.

“Jesse you always say your [sic] on a big assignment! Why can’t you just say your [sic] going on vacation with your family!” wrote one commenter.
Another said, “Jesse, you take more vacations than the Senate.”
“Jesse another night off Monday night????” another added.
“Ahhh now I know why your husband wasn’t at work! He said it was an assignment…” one fan wrote.
“Thought you said you were on assignment? Not that you lying is a surprise,” added another.
Another wrote, “Jesse just say you’re going on vacation instead of an assignment, it makes it look so stupid, either that or you think you’re fooling millions and you’re not.”
“This looks like yet another vacation and definitely not an assignment, but okay,” said another.
The comments come after Fox News viewers aired their frustrations with The Five last Friday (August 7), when the network’s Senior Foreign Policy Correspondent Gillian Turner filled in for Watters. Many viewers were not happy with the choice of replacement and tuned out.
“Gillian is a terrible substitute on this show! ! ! Why do you continue to let her? She does not do well on any show. Especially this one. Please listen to your viewers,” wrote one X user.
Another added, “Gillian awful Turner on The Five. Switching channel.”
“No one wants to see or hear Gillian Turner on The Five. She’s a liberal and is worse than Jessica (believe it or not) because she pretends she’s a moderate. She’s a pathetic phony,” said another commenter.
“Oh God! Gillian Turner @GillianHTurner is on @TheFive. Changing the channel,” another added.

I miss Jessie Watters when he is not on his shows, however, he has a family and deserves to spend time with them, away from home.
But, Jessie just say you are on vacation with family.

Jesse needs to work more like most Americans have to. He's got the best time slot on Fox and treats it like this. He's arrogant also. Used to be a big fan not so much anymore. Perhaps Fox needs to switch him to a not so important time slot and get someone with a smaller family and a willingness to work.
