Andy Cohen Defends Casting of MAGA ‘Real Housewives’ Stars

Andy Cohen hosted a Q&A on Threads on Monday (August 10), and he addressed questions about some controversial Bravo topics. As an executive producer in the Real Housewives franchise, Cohen could shed some light on questions fans have been wondering about for years.

One fan asked, “Why so many MAGA women?? I can’t watch [The Real Housewives of Orange County] anymore because of them,” to which Cohen replied, “If we didn’t showcase people with different POV’s there would be no show. Also it’s a show about the women and their relationships, not about politics.”

While Cohen and the commenter did not specify which Housewives they were referring to, another fan weighed in about a specific controversial franchise star.

The commenter wondered, “Why on Earth did you bring back Carole [Radziwill] with her known ties to the Epstein files. Many will be boycotting [The Real Housewives of New York City] because of this.” Cohen confidently answered, “Then they’re missing out. And she answers everything you’d want to know about it on the show.” In a separate post, he assured fans that Radziwill is “CLOCKED IN” this season.

Two fans wanted to know whether there would ever be a Real Housewives show in Chicago or Nashville, and Cohen said they’ve cast both locations “a few times” in the past.

Another user asked whether Cohen thinks anyone on Bravo should run for office, and he replied, “So far the track record for reality stars running for office is TERRIBLE. so I’m hesitant to say I think there are some really smart people on Bravo with great communication skills who could be effective in public service though.”

As for how to make sure Ladies of London: The New Reign returns for another season, Cohen urged his followers, “Tell everyone you know to stream it on Peacock.”
