Bachelor Nation’s Joe Amabile Shares Update After Undergoing Brain Surgery

Bachelor Nation star Joe Amabile shared a major health update after undergoing brain surgery.

Last month, The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise alum revealed that he was diagnosed with an early-stage brain tumor and would be undergoing surgery to have it removed and tested. “It’s been a wild couple weeks. I definitely wasn’t expecting this. I think it’s one of those things where you’re like, ‘Oh, something like this never happened to me,’ and here I am,” he told his Instagram followers in a July 13 video. “So, yeah. They say it’s really early stages. I hope they are able to get it all, and I’m fine. But I will keep you updated.”

In a Thursday, August 6, Instagram post, Amabile revealed that he had the surgery and that the procedure went well. “They got it all!” he wrote alongside a series of hospital photos, including himself with a bandaged head lying in bed and holding his wife Serena Pitt‘s hand.

Pitt, whom Amabile met on Season 7 of Bachelor in Paradise back in 2021, shared more details about the surgery via her Instagram Story on Thursday. “The best update: they were able to remove the entire tumor and Joe is recovering really well,” she wrote. “We’re feeling so grateful.”

Fans and celebrities celebrated Amabile’s positive health update in the comments of his post. “LETS GO,” wrote Dylan Efron, while Jennifer Love Hewitt shared several red heart emojis. “Amazing!!” said Hayley Erbert, while Emma Slater commented, “Love you @joeamabile1 you did it!” The Bachelor franchise host Jesse Palmer gushed, “This is the best news!!!!”

One fan shared that they underwent “4 neurosurgeries within 3 months this year,” adding, “As s****y of a situation as it was, having an optimistic attitude and finding the best in every moment helped pull me through. sending so much love for you to have as healing of a journey as I did. Amabile shared his mindset going into the surgery in a Tuesday, August 4, Instagram video. “Today is the day before my brain surgery. I just ran five-and-a-half miles. I feel pretty good,” he said. “I’m going in [with a] positive mindset, and yeah. It’s all I can do, really. Just chilling.”

In the post’s comments, he added, “Surgery is tomorrow. It’s felt like forever but we are finally there. A big thank you to everyone for the love and support.”
