The Drama, starring Zendaya and Robert Pattinson, follows an engaged couple during the final week before their wedding as they reveal the worst things they’ve ever done. Save the date! The Drama will hit streaming on HBO Max in the U.S. on Friday, July 31, followed by its HBO linear premiere on Saturday, August 1, at 8/7c.
What is The Drama about?
When museum director Charlie Thompson (Pattinson) and literary editor Emma Harwood (Zendaya) have a classic early-2000’s awkward coffee shop meet-cute, the rest is history. Years later, it is time for them to tie the knot, and nothing could come between them, or so they thought.
The week of their wedding, during their final food and wine tasting with their maid of honor, Rachel, and best man Mike, they play a game. Going around the table, they each say the worst thing they’ve done. What starts as stories causing gasps and laughs leads to deadly silence after Emma’s confession.
Now that Charlie has seen a dark part of her he didn’t know existed, he begins to rethink their relationship and marriage. Charlie must determine if “true love is complicated,” as he says in the trailer, or if this wedding will end in disaster.
