How Did ‘Ted Lasso’ Season 3 End? What to Remember Before the Show Returns
It’s been three years since fans last visited Richmond, but a return is imminent with the arrival of Ted Lasso Season 4 around the corner on August 5.
But in those years apart, it’s been easy to forget some of the storylines the series left fans with at the end, meaning it’s time for a refresher on what happened at the end of Ted Lasso Season 3. Below, we’re breaking down the key details fans should recall before diving into new episodes of the Apple TV comedy later this summer.
Ted returned home
By the end of Season 3, Ted (Jason Sudeikis) had opted to return to Kansas in order to rebuild his relationship with his son Henry and ex, Michelle. While it seemed that reconciliation was possibly in the cards for Ted and Michelle, it’s unclear how the years have treated the will-they-won’t-they couple after Season 4 first-look photos were unveiled. Ted’s return home came after he led A.F.C. Richmond to victory on the pitch, closing that chapter of his life, but as Season 4 will reveal, he’s far from done across the pond.

Keeley and Rebecca were starting a women’s team
As previously teased, Season 4 of Ted Lasso will focus heavily on launching the women’s team for A.F.C. Richmond, which was teased all the way back in Season 3’s finale as Keeley (Juno Temple) presented Rebecca (Hannah Waddingham) with the proposal in the final minutes. Fans will have to tune in to see how far that idea has gotten in the years since we last saw the characters.
Beard stayed in England
Ted’s right-hand man, Beard (Brendan Hunt), stayed behind in England to help coach A.F.C. Richmond and embarked on a marriage with his intense girlfriend Jane (Phoebe Walsh). He also seemed to be starting a family as Jane appeared to be pregnant, meaning that we could be seeing a whole new version of the oddball coach when Season 4 kicks off.
Roy and Keeley’s relationship was unclear
Sure, the Roy (Brett Goldstein) and Keeley romance has been a fan-favorite since Season 1, but by the time Season 3 came to a close, it appeared the former loves were merely friends, potentially exploring an intriguing dynamic with her ex and his new bestie, Jamie Tartt (Phil Dunster). But where do the former pair stand as we gear up for Season 4? It’s a major question leading into the latest chapter.
Rebecca’s romance
Rebecca had embarked on a romance of her own in Season 3 as she connected with pilot Matthijs (Matteo van der Grijn), and according to the trailer for Season 4, they’re still together. While Season 3’s closing episodes were teasing the start of that romance, we’re eager to see how it has evolved in the time since we last saw the pair.
