What To Know

  • How long will Ted Lasso run? Jason Sudeikis is revealing future plans for the Apple TV hit.
  • Find out whether Season 4 is the end or just the beginning.

Ted Lasso‘s fourth season is nearly here, and while fans thought Season 3 might be the end, the return of Apple TV‘s hit is a far cry from final-season vibes.

So, what’s the plan for the titular coach (played by Jason Sudeikis) and Richmond? As fans know, Season 4 will chronicle Ted’s return to England as he takes on coaching the new women’s team. But much like Season 1, Ted Lasso‘s fourth chapter is much more of a beginning than an ending. In an all-new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Sudeikis gets candid about the map for the show’s future.

Per the report, Sudeikis envisions this next phase of Ted Lasso as its own three-season arc, which would follow the women’s team in the same way Seasons 1 through 3 followed the men’s team. While no additional seasons of the series have been ordered at this time, there is a plan to revisit the writers’ room in late August of 2026 to get to work on Season 5 stories.

Hopeful for the show’s future, Sudeikis told the outlet, “I know I needed this. I needed it as much as other people do.”

It’s no secret Ted Lasso brings the positivity and warmth viewers are seeking from comfort TV, and we’re hopeful that reliable source will continue to stick around as Sudeikis hints. And for fans who are curious about the quality of Season 4 after mixed feelings surrounding 2023’s third chapter, Brett Goldstein, who returns as Roy Kent, told THR, “I think [Season 4] has some of that Season 1 magic.”

While fans will have to tune in and decide for themselves, the promise of more of Ted, Roy, Rebecca (Hannah Waddingham), Keeley (Juno Temple), and other fan favorites on our screens elicits all of the warm and fuzzy feelings. Stay tuned for any news about a fifth season renewal as Season 4’s arrival approaches, and let us know if you’d like to see Ted Lasso reach Sudeikis’s proposed six-season run in the comments section below.

Ted Lasso is the best comedy show on TV right now. I hated when it ended, so happy the show is coming back. I’m watching season 1-3 again, just to get caught up, I never want it to end!
