Is Daredevil in ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’? 3 Reasons It’s Possible

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is promising some exciting MCU crossovers as Mark Ruffalo‘s Bruce Banner and Jon Bernthal‘s Frank Castle join Tom Holland‘s Peter Parker onscreen in the forthcoming movie, but are there more to be had, particularly when it comes to the street-level heroes?

Fresh off the heels of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, we can’t help but wonder if Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), a.k.a. the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen, is poised to make an appearance, especially after his turn as Peter’s lawyer in No Way Home back in late 2021. But as we await the movie’s arrival on Friday, July 31, we’re breaking down a few of the reasons why the theory of Daredevil making a Spider-Man: Brand New Day appearance is sound.

Scroll down for a closer look, and stay tuned to find out if Matt Murdock does make a grand entrance in the latest Spider-Man entry.

What brings Spider-Man to prison?

In the trailer for Brand New Day, Spider-Man is seen inside a prison, preparing to fight The Hand, a group of ninja assassins that were present during Daredevil’s original three-season run on Netflix. Could it be the prison where Matt Murdock was last seen as an inmate? As fans will recall, Season 2 of Born Again ended with the blind lawyer wearing an orange jumpsuit.

Why is Frank Castle teaming up with Spider-Man?

Sure, Frank Castle operates under his own set of rules, serving as a rogue vigilante of sorts, but could there be a deeper meaning to his team-up with Spider-Man? As mentioned above, Matt Murdock is currently detained after publicly revealing he is the vigilante Daredevil. Could Frank have teamed up with Spider-Man in an effort to free his friend? It’s certainly something to consider.

Could the Hand tease Elektra’s arrival?

It’s been previously revealed in behind-the-scenes photos that Elodie Yung will reprise her role as Elektra for Daredevil: Born Again Season 3, and the presence of the Hand, a society she was connected to in the past, raises some intrigue as it could pave the way for her reintroduction onscreen in Brand New Day. And if Elektra is making an appearance, wouldn’t it only be right if Matt Murdock does, too?
