Jake Johnson in a Pickle(Ball), ’72 Hours’ With Kevin Hart & Marcello Hernández, Leslie Jones Roasts Rentals, ‘Jeopardy!’ Signs Off

Jake Johnson is a one-time tennis prodigy who takes up pickleball in the Apple TV comedy The Dink. Kevin Hart and Saturday Night Live‘s Marcello Hernández headline Netflix‘s raucous comedy 72 Hours. Another SNL alum, Leslie Jones, sounds off on below-par short-term rental properties in HGTV‘s Roast My Rental. Fans of Jeopardy! will suffer short-term withdrawal when the show goes on hiatus after the Season 42 finale.

The Dink

Movie Premiere

The worlds of tennis and pickleball collide in a genial comedy starring Jake Johnson (New Girl) as Dusty “The Hammer” Boyd, a long-ago tennis prodigy now coaching kids at his unimpressed dad’s (Ed Harris) snooty country club, which resists opening more courts to the scourge of pickleball, seen as “the novel coronavirus of sports.” After Dusty reinjures the wrist that sidelined him years ago, his doctor (Ben Stiller in a cameo) suggests he take up, you guessed it, pickleball. As luck would have it, recently divorced and utterly charming Candace (Mary Steenburgen) needs a partner, and thus begins a mostly platonic friendship that culminates in an unlikely tournament involving Dusty and his nemesis, actual tennis star Andy Roddick (spoofing himself). The movie features one of the final performances of Lynne Marie Stewart (Miss Yvonne of Pee-wee’s Playhouse fame) as one of Dusty’s new pickleball pals.

72 Hours

Movie Premiere

Imagine the hangover after Kevin Hart spends a lost weekend in Miami with a bunch of Gen Z dudes with Saturday Night Live pedigrees. That’s the premise of a slapstick comedy in which Hart, as 40-year-old ad exec Joe, decides to prove to his boss that he can still relate to today’s youth by crashing a weekend-long bachelor party to which he was mistakenly invited on a group text. The revelers include SNL regulars Marcello Hernández, Ben Marshall, and Kam Patterson, plus Scream star Mason Gooding, who challenge Joe to keep up with their antics. (Guess they’ve never seen any of Hart’s movies.)

Jasmine Roth and Leslie Jones, 'Roast My Rental' Season 1, HGTV, premieres July 24, 2026.

Roast My Rental

Series Premiere

One of SNL‘s more outspoken alums, Leslie Jones, isn’t known for keeping her opinions to herself. Which makes HGTV’s latest renovation show the perfect vehicle, as Jones visits short-term rental properties that fall way short of the hype. After Jones delivers her “oh hell no” takes, it’s time to get down to business. Jasmine Roth (Help! I Wrecked My House) steps in with a design team to turn these places around in a mere 72 hours. First stop: a cottage in California wine country that has seen far better days.

Season Finale

What is separation anxiety? Answer: That feeling when a daily ritual goes dark for several weeks, which happens every summer around this time when Jeopardy! takes its annual break until after Labor Day. If repeats of Season 42’s Champions Wildcard tournament (starting Monday) don’t do it for you, consider checking out the new ESPN Jeopardy! series starting July 31 on Disney+ and Hulu, hosted by Joe Buck. And in about a month, Ken Jennings will be back in prime time on ABC to host the fourth annual edition of Jeopardy! Masters featuring fan-favorite champions.

The main event is a happy occasion: the long-awaited marriage of Emmett (original cast member Jacob Latimore) and Keisha (Birgundi Baker). But don’t be surprised if some serious drama breaks out to cloud the honeymoon. The finale makes its linear premiere on Showtime Sunday at 9/8c.

Naturally, Jeopardy chooses to rerun one of the needless tournaments that no one wanted to see the first time around. 🙄
