Alyssa Farah Griffin Makes Bold 2028 Election Prediction on ‘The View’
Alyssa Farah Griffin has a hot take about what’s in store for the 2028 presidential election cycle. On Friday’s (July 10) episode of The View, the cohosts discussed the latest news about the prospects for the Democratic ticket, focusing on a comment from JD Vance, the sitting vice president, that Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is the likeliest to emerge as the frontrunner for the DNC in that cycle (and AOC’s quip that she “hope[s]” Vance is the Republicans’ nominee).
After warning that there could be backlash for the Democratic party if they lean into the Democratic Socialists wing as a result of their recent primary wins, Griffin predicted, “My hot take of the moment is that the most likely person to be the Democratic nominee is Kamala Harris.”
Griffin justified her theory by pointing out that polls have her ahead of other candidates. “It’s usually her and Gavin Newsom,” Griffin noted.
Joy Behar clapped back at that suggestion, saying, “I loved her. She was great. But she didn’t win one time, what makes you think she’s going to win again?”
Griffin then explained, “I find it hard to believe that based on the money she raised, the name ID she has, and I don’t think the party would pass over her for a generic white man.”
When Behar then suggested other choices, like Jon Ossoff, Josh Shapiro, and J.B. Pritzker, Sara Haines then jumped in to suggest Pete Buttigieg and Wes Moore as other candidate possibilities.
However, Behar worried aloud, “We all love Buttigieg, but are they going to vote for a gay guy?”
“I am not going to break the party down on, ‘They won’t vote for gay, white, women.’ I think the identity reduces the charisma of the character, the person in front of us,” Haines snapped back.
“You’re not in reality,” Behar then said.
Haines took umbrage with that, saying, “Do you think we were sitting around when President Obama won and saying, ‘We’re so ready for a Black president’? No, and he blew it out of the park.”
However, Sunny Hostin, an avid supporter of Obama, then chimed in to say, “Yeah, and you know what? After President Obama, we got Trump. We got a whitelash against a Black president. That’s what we got.” She then said the party needs to be “realistic” about who can win.
Ana Navarro took issue with the notion that the candidate had to be a white man, predicting there would be an array of different profiles in contention for the job, but Behar said, “Maybe I’m too old at this point for this conversation, but I’ve been watching this country for a long time, and you’ve got to be in reality. This past few years that Trump has been in office, he’s practically destroying democracy. This is an emergency.”
Hostin agreed with Behar, saying, “Correct.”
Later, Navarro targeted Behar by saying, “I hate it when I hear you say that it’s gotta be a white man because I then feel it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.”
“I’m not that powerful, Ana,” Behar groaned.
“No, but you’ve got to create … Millions of people watch us on a daily basis, and you are a feminist, you fought to break glass…”
“She’s also a realist!” Hostin then argued.
“I know, but what I’m saying is I’m not going to tell little Black children or little Latino children or little girls that they can’t run and become president,” Navarro noted.
Behar then defended herself, saying, “I am not saying that. I am saying that we are in a burning building right now…. I’m talking about winning. What is this country really going to do? The future belongs to every child, every color, every nationality.”
“But are you saying the only people that can save us from the burning bulding is a white man?” Navarro continued.
Behar then said she didn’t want to be a “Debbie Downer,” but “it’s an emergency.”
Another name that was discussed during the panel was Bernie Sanders, who was roundly rejected by the group, with Behar joking, “You want somebody who follows the Constitution, not somebody who wrote it.”

Man Hostin just can’t contain her racism. Just about every show. Any Who the only real threat out of these 🤡s would be Shapiro. He would represent a realistic threat to the GOP. And if we gotta have a Democrat POTUS he’d be the most desirable in my view. At least he has some forms of reason to him. The rest are a gaggle of 🤡s and/or AntiAmerican antagonists. Pray none of them come even close to winning. I think Shapiro has a decent measure of patriotism ( I could be very wrong, depends on if he’s willing to stand up to the socialist Islamist ) in him and would do pretty decent by the country.
