Nancy Guthrie Case: New Ransom Letter Claims There’s Video of Nancy & Kidnapper

A new ransom letter was sent to TMZ with more information about Nancy Guthrie‘s alleged kidnappers. The writer claims to have a video of Nancy with the “main guy” involved in the abduction.

Per TMZ, the author of the letter, who they have verified also sent previous ransom notes, wrote: “I have a phone stashed in a secure location guaranteeing both the information it stores and the safety of the phone. What it contains is my definition of delivering them on a silver platter, a short video of the main guy with nancy the day that was probably her last, pictures of both involved, names and addresses and age.”

The writer said he would reveal the location of the phone for the price of one Bitcoin. TMZ responded, asking for a screenshot of Nancy in the video to verify its authenticity. The outlet also forwarded the message to the FBI.

TMZ and other media outlets began receiving ransom notes about Nancy shortly following her January 31 disappearance. Earlier this week, it was reported that one of the early ransom notes allegedly included an “apology” for Savannah Guthrie‘s mother’s death. (It has not been officially confirmed that she died.)

The validity of the notes has not been verified, but investigators familiar with the case believe that the letter suggesting that Nancy died was sent by her kidnapper, per CBS News. It’s been nearly five months since Nancy was reported missing on February 1 and no suspects have been named in the case.

There is video footage of a masked man on Nancy’s doorstep before she went missing, but police have not identified the person in the clip. While the answers in this case appear dire, Savannah and her family are simply looking for closure.

“Somebody knows something,” she said on a recent episode of Today. “This is a news story today that is on your radar, but this is the life that my sister lives, that I live, that my brother lives, that our extended families live, that our children live, every day. And we are in agony, and we cannot be at peace. So, no matter how much I try to come out here every day and smile and find that joy — and I will, I promise I will — this is a moment to tell you that we need your help, we’re begging for your help, and I’m not gonna miss that opportunity.”
