‘Wheel of Fortune’ Contestant Called Out for Giving ‘Stink Eye’ to Opponent Who Won $63,000

It’s all fun and games… or is it? A Wheel of Fortune contestant was called out by host Ryan Seacrest for giving her opponent the “stink eye” because he was winning. The opponent went on to win over $63,000.

Logan McDevitt, from Los Angeles, California, solved the first toss-up on April 2. McDevitt loves to do crossword puzzles first thing in the morning. He also has an engineering degree and volunteers with an organization that does water and structural projects around the world.

He played against Kim Cordrey, from Greenwood, Delaware, and Nikita Williamson, from District Heights, Maryland. McDevitt solved the second toss-up, putting him in the lead with $3,000.

However, his luck ran out when he landed on Bankrupt during the first puzzle. Williamson, a single woman looking for her match, picked up the One Million Dollar wedge that round. She solved “Straight-Leg Blue Jeans” for $2,650.

During the next round, Cordrey, a beekeeper with 18 hives, picked up the Mystery Wedge, which had a Bankrupt on it. McDevitt then obtained the Wild Card on the “Before & After” puzzle. He solved “Bunk Bed-And-Breakfast” for $4,400.

When the game show came back from commercial, Seacrest said, “Just so you know, Kim was giving Logan the stink eye in the commercial break. Why?”

“Because he’s winning,” Cordrey replied.

“We’re going to unleash the bees on you,” the host joked to McDevitt.

McDevitt used his Wild Card on the next puzzle, getting an “N.” Before he solved “What Are We Waiting For?” for a trip to Australia, Seacrest told Cordrey to turn around, so she couldn’t see him solve it. McDevitt had a total of $23,982.

Cordrey finally got on the board when she solved two of the three Triple Toss-ups for $4,000. Williamson solved the third.

Williamson solved the final puzzle — “My Darling Clementine” — for $8,250. She had a total of $12,900.

Cordrey left with $4,000. McDevitt was the night’s winner with $23,982.

He chose “Place” for the Bonus Round. McDevitt brought his parents with him, who said they were proud of him.

After Wheel of Fortune gave him “R,S,T,L,N, and E,” the contestant chose “C,P,M, and A.” The puzzle then looked like “A  _ _ _ER – _PPER.”

McDevitt guessed many phrases until he settled on “A Fixer Upper,” which was correct. He had $40,000 in his envelope, giving him a total of $63,982.

“You played that perfectly. You talked it out and then had an Eureka moment,” Ryan Seacrest said.
