When Does Alyssa Farah Griffin Return to ‘The View’?

Alyssa Farah Griffin is coming back to The View … and sooner than you might’ve expected.

The cohost has been on maternity leave since the middle of February after giving birth to her first child, a boy, with husband Justin Griffin.

At the end of Thursday’s (April 2) show, moderator Whoopi Goldberg announced the show’s plans to bring her back from leave, saying, “We are thrilled to let you know that Alyssa will be returning to the table when we come back live after the holidays.” The show’s social media feeds then confirmed her official return date will be on Monday, April 13.

Fans reacted with joy about the news of her impending return in the comments, with one person writing, “Glad she’s back cause some of these fill ins were yikes.” Wrote another, “Girl finally, I’ve skipped the show for weeks.” Others, however, noted that she hadn’t taken that much time off for her maternity leave, with one fan writing, “6 weeks off? Girl take your time!!”

In the weeks of Griffin’s absence, several guest cohosts have stepped up to take her place at the table, including Savannah Chrisley, Amanda Carpenter, Sara Eisen, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Sheryl Underwood, Abby Huntsman, and, currently, Whitney Cummings.

Griffin, who had long been candid about her fertility journey on air, gave birth to her son, Justin Patrick Griffin Jr., on February 10. Her cohosts, who also threw her (and the live audience full of pregnant women) a baby shower on air, announced when she had gone into labor live.

Griffin, a registered Republican who served in Donald Trump‘s first administration before announcing her decision not to support him in the 2024 race, joined The View in 2022 and has been a full-time cohost ever since. She is also a political commentator for CNN, like Ana Navarro.
