Eva Longoria has been hyping up Kim Kardashian‘s performance in the upcoming Netflix comedy movie The Fifth Wheel, saying she can’t wait for the world to see “how great she is.”
Speaking to People, the Desperate Housewives alum opened up about the film, which she directed. The plot follows a group of high school best friends who try to reconnect during a weekend trip to Vegas. However, their lives and relationships are thrown into chaos when a hot outsider crashes the weekend.
“It’s so much fun. We just wrapped after three months of filming. We ended in Vegas. It was a dream job,” Longoria told the outlet. “First of all, it’s a big, unapologetically R-rated female comedy that feels modern and contemporary.”
In addition to Kardashian, The Fifth Wheel stars Nikki Glaser, Brenda Song, and Fortune Feimster. Other cast members included Jack Whitehall, Casey Wilson, Scott MacArthur, and Will Ferrell.
Longoria described Kardashian as “the anchor of the movie,” adding, “We just had a blast. Kim and I have been friends for 25 years, and when I got the job, she said, ‘Oh, thank God Eva knows I’m funny.'”
“And she is — she’s so funny. I cannot wait for the world to see how great she is in this movie and hopefully spark more female comedies.”
Kardashian made her acting debut in the 2008 parody film Disaster Movie and also starred in Tyler Perry’s 2013 film Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor. She also appeared in episodes of CSI: NY, Beyond the Break, and Drop Dead Diva, though her acting pursuits slowed down as she focused on her reality TV career.
However, Kardashian has picked up her on-screen roles over the past couple of years, recently starring in the Ryan Murphy shows All’s Fair and American Horror Story: Delicate. She also voices Delores in 2021’s Paw Patrol: The Movie and its 2023 sequel, Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie.
