‘Gold Rush’ Stars Put On the Glitz & Rick Returns in Season 14 Trailer (VIDEO)

The gold miners are back in business as Discovery Channel‘s hit series Gold Rush eyes its 14th season on the network beginning Friday, September 29.

In anticipation of the return, Discovery has also unveiled a gilded trailer featuring stars Parker Schnabel and Tony Beets who are joined by former miner Rick Ness who is reentering the fold after quitting nearly two years ago. Described as a make-or-break season, Gold Rush‘s latest chapter shifts the balance of power forever with only room for the best.

After 10 years working in the Klondike, Schnabel, the 28-year-old mining prodigy, is at a crossroads in his life. He must decide whether to play it safe and scale back his operation or risk everything on a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to acquire gold-rich virgin ground. The massive gamble could put him into bankruptcy or deliver a payday so grand he’d solidify his spot as one of the most powerful miners in the region.

As Rick Ness returns after dropping off the radar, he’s on a mission to make millions and accomplish his version of the American Dream. The only catch? With no crew and limited funds, Rick is facing an uphill battle on the road to redemption. He’ll also offer an explanation behind his lost year in mining.

Meanwhile, Tony Beets wants to surpass his best-ever 5,300-ounce gold haul which was worth $9 million. His new goal is 6,000 ounces, and everything is looking up when he gets access to his coveted claims on the Indian River. But when one of his kids chooses not to come back, it threatens to topple the whole plan.

While gold mining has its rewards on the show, there’s plenty of risk involved and despite prior success, these men will have new challenges to face as the latest season unfolds. Check out the teaser trailer, above, and don’t miss Gold Rush when it returns this fall.
