Simu Liu will star in Prime Video‘s upcoming action-adventure series Seven Wonders, based on a novel by Ben Mezrich, written for adaptation by Adam Cozad (The Legend of Tarzan) and to be directed by Justin Lin.

According to an official logline, the series follows “brilliant botanist-adventurer Dr. Nate Grady (Liu) as he teams up with the slippery international fixer, Sloane Seydoux, on a breathless race to solve an ancient mystery tied to the Seven Ancient Wonders of the World.”

The show will be executive produced by Liu, as well as Lin, Cozad, Salvador Gatdula, and Andrew Schneider (Perfect Storm), and Beau Flynn (Flynn Picture Company). The original idea for Seven Wonders came from Flynn and Mezrich, who developed the book together. Mezrich is also the author of The Accidental Billionaires, a book about how Facebook was found, which was adapted into The Social Network, as well as Bringing Down The House, which was adapted into the films 21 and The Last Casino.

Lin is known for directing several Fast and the Furious films, including Tokyo Drift, Fast & Furious, Fast Five, Fast & Furious 6, and Flynn Picture Company is known for producing a litany of Dwyane Johnson films, such as Netflix’s Red Notice and Warner Bros’s upcoming Black Adam.

Lin and Cozad previously worked on the film Snap Dragon and Cozad co-penned the scripts for Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit and The Legend of Tarzan. Liu is best known for playing the titular role in Marvel Studio’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, a role he will reprise in the film’s upcoming sequel.
