Jocko Sims Says Reynolds’ Secret Will Come Out in ‘New Amsterdam’ Season 4 (VIDEO)
New Amsterdam’s fourth season sees the brilliant, straight-laced Doctor Reynolds (Jocko Sims) in a tricky position.
Always on the lookout for the woman he’s going to settle down with, Reynolds took a left turn last season when he fell for the entrancing Dr. Lyn Malvo (Frances Turner)…who also happens to be married. Despite her open marriage, their fling turned more serious, and was given the ultimate twist in the season finale when Reynolds met and was promoted by a surgeon at the hospital named Dr. Claude Baptiste (Andre B. Blake), who turned out to be Malvo’s husband.
“What’s interesting about Dr. Reynolds is he’s always been very structured. He has his life planned out. He wants to have his woman, his family, and the traditional thing, but clearly he’s found himself a bit in over his head,” Sims tells TV Insider. But whether Baptiste already knows what’s going on between Reynolds and his wife, or he’s completely in the dark, the relationship can’t stay secret for long. “At some point, the cat’s got to come out of the bag,” says Sims.
On the plus side, being promoted to Deputy Chair of Surgery means that Reynolds is back in a high-level position at the hospital, and will surely be bound to have some fascinating cases. In terms of what this means to Sims – “My favorite part for Reynolds is that he gets to wear suits again.”
Watch the video above for our interview with Sims about everything that’s in store for Reynolds is Season 4 of the NBC medical drama.

I can no longer watch this series as it is going down the wrong path what does anyone get out of being in such an immoral situation except the sex!

It was totally illogical and irrational for Reynolds to go down this path. He has/had been portrayed as a man of integrity who knows what he wants. He went into this polyamorous relationship with his eyes wide open. I've not been a fan of this from Day One. IMO, they need to end this ridiculous plot line as soon as possible (I've been Team Evie since that intro). Since we only know one side of the story, Lynn Malvo's, it will be interesting to see if the husband knows, or if this was just her plan all along--and she's the real cheater in the relationship (plus, I've never seen/felt the "chemistry/vibe" between them even thought it has been somewhat pushed). Her husband seemed pretty cool, at least initially, but we'll see!

it's a tv show. let the writers write and enjoy the ride. they have fire chemistry (you just don't like the storyline so of course you're not going to admit to that) .more than he had with bloom and evie put together. both were like watching paint dry (especially with evie). clearly the writers are taking him on a journey and evolving his character from a man trying to figure out what he wants, like people do on their journey through life. the bar he's set to be perfect yet he's been making choices that stray from that since the beginning, it's called being human. whether you agree with the actions are not, this makes him a far more interesting character. watching him navigate this (especially given the life he's tried to lead in the past) is *interesting* and i'm super interested to see how it plays out. i love that for the character and the actor. it makes his journey watchable. again, it's a tv show. watching it from some moralistic place instead of going along for whatever messy, thought provoking, journey the writers want to take us on (with each of the characters) doesnt sound like fun to me.
