Matthew Ashford Returns to ‘Days of Our Lives’ as Jack Deveraux

So what if he was killed in an elevator crash? NBC’s Days of Our Lives is bringing back Jack Deveraux—the lovable rapscallion played by Matthew Ashford—who was last seen in 2012 when he sacrificed his life to save daughter Abigail (Kate Mansi). Sorry, romance fans, a big Jack and Jen (Melissa Reeves) reunion appears unlikely, since Ashford has only signed for a five-episode arc.

Still, the news is surprising: Last summer, exec producer Ken Corday swore to the press there’d be no more Days characters coming back from the dead. Is the boss going back on his word already? Or will Jack be seen in spirit form?

It’s all top secret for now, so we’ll just have to wait…and wait. Ashford is due to report for work the week of November 30 but—because Days shoots nearly half a year in advance—he won’t hit the air until late spring.

      Ken corday is bastard and liar he has no idea how hire the right writers either and he has personal vendetta against Matthew Ashford and his character that why he keeps jerking his character and storyline not wanting to bring him back show again or his character alive. He is worst asshole executive producer on this face of the earth. I cannot stand jennifer anymore or her pairings prior to Jack why can't Matthew Ashford can play another character just like Jack deveraux devious and manipulated and charming instead of bringing Francois Von loser back or Eric brady neither of them I do not want them back for Jennifer no way. Or send Jennifer away Bayview mental hospital leave her there till Melissa reeves contact expires.

    I want jack back alive and kicking again. I think he deserves to have storyline not just with Jennifer and Abby but I want Jack interact with steve and Adrienne and maybe new love interest for change not groveling to saint jennifer anymore.

      If Matthew Ashford is not returning anymore after the five episodes then I do not care about jennifer or her boring pairings either same Crappy Storyline. I wish Jennifer never came back to the show 2010 only for short term then leave back to London. It is all Jennifer fault that Jack is dead maybe gone for good. I will never support Jennifer character anymore she needy and pathetic bitch after Dannifer mess I couldn't stand Jennifer anymore.
