‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ Boss Bradley Bell Previews a Seismic Shakeup at Forrester Creations
We know it’s the season of miracles but this is just cuckoo bananas! On December 14, The Bold and the Beautiful’s young Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) will accept an offer from her conniving step-grandmother, Quinn (Rena Sofer), to become the new CEO of Forrester Creations—a job that will have these two archenemies working side by side with Quinn as the new Forrester president. What the hell? Executive producer and head writer Bradley Bell explains.
Steffy has long hated Quinn’s guts and blames her for ruining her marriage to Quinn’s son Wyatt (Darin Brooks). Now she’s selling out because of a tempting job offer?
Steffy is very moved by the honor. Her grandfather Eric [John McCook] wants this to happen from the bottom of his heart and sees this as a true passing of the baton. Besides, it’s time for a woman to run things. And it’s a provocative opportunity. Wyatt has the promotional savvy to make Steffy a household name with millions of online followers. She’ll become an “influencer,” as they say nowadays. She’s going to be our show’s Kardashian, and it’s because of Wyatt. They are going to do great things together.
But their marriage just broke up and Steffy has already moved on to Wyatt’s brother, Liam (Scott Clifton). Is this Quinn’s not-so-subtle attempt to reunite Wyatt and Steffy?
Liam certainly sees it that way. He’s sure that Quinn’s offer is total manipulation, and it’s going to create quite a rift between him and Steffy. Is it something they can negotiate and endure? We’ll have to see. But Quinn is sincere. She really admires Steffy and cares for her. These are her maternal instincts kicking in. Quinn has been changed forever by Eric’s love and trust in her. It’s a Taming of the Shrew story. He believed in her when no one else did and she’ll never forget it.
So Quinn’s totally innocent here?
[Laughs] Well, I didn’t say that! Yes, Quinn is determined to get Wyatt and Steffy back together. She also wants Wyatt to emerge as the dominant Spencer son.

Where does this leave Eric’s sons, Rick (Jacob Young) and Ridge (Thorsten Kaye), who both wanted to be CEO?
Eric will make Quinn president. Wyatt becomes head of PR. And Rick and Ridge will be co–vice presidents, which of course they’re not happy about. A band of new outlaws has taken over Forrester, and they are aligned with the king. [Laughs] And, when you’re aligned with the king, anything is possible. Maya is really going to take issue with Quinn and stand up to her. Don’t forget, Maya’s portrait is still freshly off the wall, replaced by that portrait of Quinn. And Rick has done a spectacular job with international sales, so this CEO appointment really stings. Mess with Rick and you’re messing with Maya.
At least Ridge has a consolation prize in Brooke. They hit the sheets during the December 5 episode and get engaged right before Christmas.
They are finally headed for the finish line. But will they cross it? Ridge will be so consumed with what’s happening at Forrester that it may get in the way of those wedding plans. And we haven’t heard the last from Bill Spencer [Don Diamont]. He’s a man who gets what he wants and he’s not giving up on Brooke.

What’s up with this sudden rivalry between Quinn and Katie (Heather Tom)? If Quinn is so emotionally stable now, why is she freaking out with jealousy? These two women have no real history together.
It does come out of the blue. Quinn is still Quinn and she can’t handle her new husband having female friends. Katie’s physical proximity as their new next-door neighbor is bad enough but Katie and Eric have a real friendship and a long history. When they start talking fondly about the good old days, Quinn just can’t stand it. That’s going to play big in 2017. It’s a very delicious thing to explore, especially with Rena and Heather—two great actresses who have never had much to do together on screen. This whole thing started with my wanting to see them mix it up. My dad [the show’s late cocreator Bill Bell] used to do it that way. [Laughs] He’d say, “Names on the page!” That’s where he’d start with a story between two characters. I’d say, “But they have nothing in common. What are they going talk about?” And he’d laugh and say, “Well, I don’t know yet. But, damn, it’s gonna be good!”

B&B is such a mess.Bell is creatively bankrupt. It's Wash Rinse Repeat. Ridge & Brooke Part 529 ? Boring! Ridge & Caroline was fresh ,romantic with an organic build. In typical B&B fashion they break up pairings wily nily & then in an instant they love again w/o any build. Quinn & Eric screwed a couple times & all of a sudden B&B sells them as a love for the ages?
Don't even get me started on the vapidity of Steffy/Wyatt/Liam. They've been eating the screen close to 2 years. The Avants are fantastic but have been MIA ever since Obba won his Emmy. Don't even get me started on the shoddy treatment of Heather Tom. She's probably Daytime's best actress & she's left twiddling her thumbs. Linsey Godfrey's great but she's been forced off screen for months so B&B can try & sell putrid Bridge. Relationships are puddle deep on B&B.8

I totally agreed! Brooke and $Bill should be married! It's time for Brooke too me delivery from that spelled(curse) that Ridge has had over Brooke. That awesome amazing Romantic Compassion scene's is 10000 billion times better than anything that Ridge has or do, do! I don't put Ridge and Brooke together, becauses "IT'S NOT FAIR" to all the views that has been dedication too the soap B&B. I promise I will "STOP" watching completely if that devlish, unstable disrespectful rude individual name Ridge get with Brooke. Move on with some exciting romantic/work together storyline's with the "Spencer Publication's" and for once let Brooke & $Bill bring some exciting, awesome storyline's.

He clearly cannot write like his father. This show is a huge mess, and if he and his family didn't own this show I would suggest to CBS that he be fired. He screwed up Maya's life by making her a man, he screwed up Steffy by having her sleep with, and then marry Liam's brother, and Steam will never be the same after that. He's bounced Brooke and Bill back and forth so many times it's ridiculous, and now after his marriage to Katie is done for a SECOND time; he wants to rekindle Bridge? Wth is this man doing? Does he even have a clue? Quinn, a criminal is the President of FC, and Steffy is CEO, while Rick and Ridge become Co-VP? Insanity! He brought Maya's family to the fold, and did not continue the brilliance of Julius and Viv, so now they've been back-burnered for this crap with Quinn and Eric. He never listens to the fans, and that is a huge mistake. So many people have stopped watching this show and it's sad. Frankly I'm almost ready to join them because he does not know what he's doing with those characters. They are just all over the place. The copy and paste storytelling is laziness at it's best. For example, when Wyatt came to town and began working with Hope, Liam suspected Wyatt was manipulating her in order to get close. He asked Hope a few times not to keep Wyatt on, but she refused. Next, thing we knew Hope and Liam were heading towards splitsville, and Wyatt was in. Isn't that the same thing he described for Liam and Steffy's upcoming story? Wyatt's new job brings him close to Steffy. Liam can smell trouble, and will probably ask her to reassign Wyatt to another project. Stubborn Steffy will say no, and Steam will be on their path to destruction... Copy and paste. And don't get me started on how he has destroyed the wonderful father/son relationship between Bill and Liam, so his favorite character (next to Quinn) Wyatt can be the star of the Spencer clan. Sickening. Absolutely sickening.

That forced relationship between Steffy and Wyatt brought on by kidnapping and lying between Wyatt and Quinn should be buried......because none of Wyatt wrong doing was brought out and he is now once again being in the end the innocent one and Liam being the victim of he and his mother madness..........

Please do not put Ridge and Brooke tigetgr and hopefully, $Bill and Brooke will be married! I just don't think that Brooke is going too give up $Bill because $Bill romantic scene's and compassion is 10000 billion time better than Ride anyday. If, those two get together I will stop watching B&B. And that's a promises. Brooke belong with $Bill not Ridge. RJ is and big boy, it's time for him too focusing on his lusting crushing romantic relationship. "REALLY" Hopefully, $Bill will do whatever he has too do too finally for once and all destroyed Ridge and guvr him a wake up called. Everything else within the scoop upcoming storyline's I am all for, just not Brooke and Ridge!!!!

Because you know everything, this guy is NOT the Ridge who made popular pairing with the Brooke character, end of story. This 'Bridge' is not a core part of this soap let alone a pairing with root quality, chemistry or vibrant vibe, they suck big time..and once again Brooke character is destroyed in order to put this awful and boring pair together. Ridge and Brooke are characters, not actors. TK was brought in to replace RM as Ridge, end of story as you put it. You might not think they are Bridge but I do and they do have chemistry. And who are these "many" people if I may ask? A few loud people who comment over and over again, don't even make up 1% of the total viewership. In my experience the GA goes with the flow.

How pathetic...you don't know what GA want more than i do, however one thing i know for sure is that since this Ridge came back sniffing around Brooke, ratings dropped. End of story. And recasts can change character's dynamics and that happened in this case with this new Ridge, who has NO chemistry what's so ever with KLL (Brooke). We, the audience, could overcome in a way Bridge convoluted and disfunctional story because of the connection between the actors (although Ron Moss was a bad actor, he had charisma, presence and chemistry with KLL, who was the real dynamo in the pairing above all) but here with this new actor there is NADA, nothing, niet, rien ! And i don't even talk about the nonsense story wise given the recent stories between the characters where Brooke was in love with another man, who match her totally and Ridge just showed scorn most of the time towards her and was madly in love with another girl (Caroline) and really dead set on starting a family with her !!!

Brill was not more nasty than Bridge (and Ridge looks like a grandpa next to little girl Caroline..creepy and nasty at its finest) who add to that suck big time with this new Ridge..it is ridiculous.. At least Brooke and Bill (despite how they began) are dynamic, alpha characters together and could make a powerful and EQUAL couple/pairing who run business like with many potential storylines to drive !

Done with Bold and Beautiful. Have watched this show since it first aired. Stopped after Liam came back and Wyatt was married to Steffy. Started back when Steffy and Liam got back together. Here we go again, now Evil Quinn and Can't find a girl of my own Wyatt have old man Eric on their side. This is getting ridiculous, writers and Bell are idiots. Have had enough. By B&B.

I hope this new storyline breathes something new for B&B. Did Brad Bell forget there are other people on the show besides Quinn,Steffy,Liam and Wyatt! I wish they did more with the Avant family funny how when Maya was revealed to be transgender they jumped all over that now you barely hear the word let one see Maya at all. I hope to see a sibling rivalry with Sasha and Nicole where Zende is not involved.

And, seriously, Baby Bell, enough already with family members interchanging lovers. It's disgusting and really lazy writing. Here's a novel idea, give Wyatt a girlfriend who wasn't with Liam first. Also, trying to make the night Douglas was conceived consensual is the worst thing your terrible writers have ever done. We were there. Caroline was out of it and too in love with and sad over the breakup with Ridge. You have portrayed Thomas as a predator (stalking Ivy, his cousin, in the kitchen?) and we didn't like it. We started to warm up to him when he and Sasha were growing close, but of course your terrible writers ruined that, too. Making him have this crazy connection with Douglas while treating Nicole like a brood mare whose only thoughts were for Zende immediately after delivering Lizzie was insensitive and kind of racist. Also, in what world would a doctor allow a barely 20-year-old get inseminated again just six months after delivering a child, especially when she was too young, had never had her own child as is the practice for surrogates, and a virgin the first time. Please get it together or you're going to lose a lot of long-time viewers. Bring in some fresh blood because this business of constantly having siblings and cousins and even parents sleep their way through their relatives' families is seriously messed up.

Well,my thoughts are going to be way more respectful towards the head writer and either well received by some or ridiculed by many.Here I go:
I for one have been truly enjoying the chemistry,tight bond,and mutual respect I see in Eric and Quinn. Further,It has been so satisfying to watch Eric and Quinn doing their best to work together and give each other the much deserved mutual moral support.
Onto Wyatt/Liam/Steffy,I personally absolutely love how honest,loving,suppotive,and truly assertive the writer has been portraying Wyatt.For the record,I also feel that anyone who cannot see he is the partner who truly cared/cares about bringing out and enhancing the best in Steffy is bias. For me,I see how Liam always manages to put her down/dictate his perceptions at the first sign of her not seeing things his way! On the other-hand,it is Wyatt who respectfully expresses his thoughts and then leaves it upto Steffy to follow her own gut instincts. Wyatt has proven through his words and actions that he embraces all of Steffy.
As for all the other story-lines: As long as the writer keeps having Bill,Liam,and Ridge blocked by others when they try to get away with the dictating,scheming,and belittling I see them doing,I will be an avid supporter of the Bold and the Beautiful thriving.-

Wyatt can afford to be magnanimous because he's not the one who was kidnapped in a parking lot by a crazy woman and then held captive for months without much-needed medical help. So, yeah, I don't blame Liam for not wanting Steffy to work with Quinnsane. He's whining too much, I agree, but I can't remember him not being supportive of her before on other issues.

Considering Quinn tried to kill deacon by pushing him off a cliff, threw Eric's niece off a
bridge (does eric care about Ivy?), kidnapped Liam and once broke into
his house to kill him (Wyatt stopped that crazy witch), stalked Hope
until she tripped and lost baby. And that is just a few takes on crazy Quinn. Why isn't she dead yet? The show has always been good in the past with a few exceptions but some of these new crazy characters are not interesting to watch for 2 whole years and we miss the ones we watched for years like Hope, Donna, Thorne, Felicia, Nick, Carter, Caroline and others that were favorites. We just wanna come home after a long day at work and see some of the ones we love!!! Also, there is no payback for what Quinn has done to all those people and we hate it!!! The writers have never given us satisfaction in that regard and they really should.

I honestly would love something different! Maybe Ridge and Quinn hooking up in a moment of passion. They hate each other and Ridge becomes so consumed with his hate that it turns into something else. Breaks Brooke's heart and she goes running back to Bill, who doesn't take her back.

Thats interesting. I feel the same way. I loved Steffy and Bill together. That would make Ridge's head explode and that is entertainment! Also, Steffy and Bill could have very interesting storylines. Eric should be with Brooke cause Stephanie wanted Brooke to be the Matriarch and the picture fell when Eric first kissed Quinn. Bad Omen.

Can't STAND 'Irish King Ridge' ... when it was revealed he was a Marone, he should've been kicked-to-the-curb. He is an insufferable entitled megalomaniac and deserves his come-uppance in spades! (He can take his insipid little RJ with him when he leaves!) They add NOTHING to storyline in my opinion...
