Fan-favorite 90 Day Fiancé couple Jenny Slatten and Sumit Singh have had enough of the “fake illness” claims following her ALS diagnosis. Now, they’re telling their “haters” to “keep your thoughts to yourself.”

In the past few days, Jenny and Sumit traveled to Goa, a small state on the southwestern coast of India, which has sparked online rumors that the TLC stars are lying about Jenny’s terminal illness — these rumors are clearly false. Speaking out about their trip, Sumit explained, “We are in Goa. It’s like a vacation.” Still, they’re hopeful that a change of pace would help them both.

“Vacation is also a mental treatment,” Sumit shared. “[Jenny] still can smile at the beach. She still can laugh with me. She still can enjoy the breeze on the beach. She should be allowed to do that without anyone having any kind of issue with that.”

He added, “Struggling with ALS [for] a long time, it’s not easy for Jenny. It’s not easy for me either. Right now, Jenny can stand. She can walk a few steps. She can even try to talk with a lot of effort.” According to Sumit, her speech is the most affected. She’s also in a wheelchair most of the time due to neck problems.

However, while Jenny is physically struggling, her mental capacity remains the same. “[ALS] keeps your mind wide awake, but it takes your body one at a time… piece by piece… She is the same person, but she is losing ability and freedom.”

So, why go on a trip now? Sumit shared, “As someone who’s going through terminal disease… As doctors say, ALS Bulber patients have three to five years of [life left].” Since ALS is “a progressive disease,” he began, “whatever we have today [is] not going to remain the same tomorrow.” Watch their full statement above.
