‘Dancing With the Stars’: All About Ezra Frech’s Family
Ezra Frech is winning over the hearts of millions as a contestant on Dancing With the Stars Season 35. The Paralympian, whose leg was amputated above the knee when he was a child, has defied the odds as an athlete and is now showing off some impressive skills on the dance floor.
Some of the most supportive people of Ezra’s DWTS journey are his family members. “Feeling very emotional right now!!!” Ezra’s mom wrote on Instagram ahead of the September 15 premiere. “We are a few hours away and my heart is bursting out of my body.”

Who is Ezra Frech’s mom?
Ezra’s mom is Bahar Soomekh, a former actress from Iran who moved to the United States with her family in 1979. After graduating from the University of California, Santa Barbara, with a degree in environmental studies in 1997, Bahar began taking acting classes, eventually quitting her day job to pursue an acting career full-time.

She had roles on Without a Trace and JAG in 2002, but her breakout was as Dorri in the 2004 film Crash. In 2006, she starred in Mission: Impossible III, and she also played Lynn Denlon in Saw III that same year.
Some of her television roles include Day Break, Ghost Whisperer, Castle, and Parenthood. After ending her acting career following a role in 2014’s Perception, Bahar appeared in episodes of Memory of a Killer and The Fix in 2026.
She is currently pursuing a career in real estate and is the co-founder of Angel City Sports, a nonprofit organization that provides sports opportunities for people with disabilities.
Who is Ezra Frech’s dad?
Ezra’s dad is Clayton Frech. Like Bahar, he attended UC Santa Barbara, graduating in 1993 with an economics degree. He then attended the UCLA Anderson School of Management from 1996 to 1998.

Clayton is the founder and CEO of Angel City Sports. In 2020, he also created Vitium Productions, noting on LinkedIn, “I am a documentary filmmaker dedicated to sharing stories from the Adaptive and Paralympic Sports Movement with the world.”
Clayton is Ezra’s manager. He and Bahar got married in 2001.
Does Ezra Frech have siblings?
Yes, Ezra is the eldest of Clayton and Bahar’s three children. He has two younger brothers, Gabriel Frech and Elijah Frech.
From September 2026 to January 2026, Gabriel served as a page for the U.S. Senate. He has also been the youth council president for Angel City Sports since 2024. Gabriel is due to graduate from Brentwood School in 2027, per his LinkedIn.
Meanwhile, Elijah is currently a student who is set to graduate from Brentwood School in 2030.
