‘Love Is Blind’: Are Sarah Williams & John Shannon Still Together?
After the episodes in the pods alone, Love Is Blind Season 11 has gotten off to a wild start.
Bostonians Sarah Williams and John Shannon have quickly become the most talked-about engaged couple this season. After sharing their differing views on healthcare topics like vaccines and abortions, fans began to question whether the duo was made to last or not. Sarah has taken Swooon inside their politically charged conversations, and John has put out his own statement clarifying his stance on the topics they discussed in the pods.
Below, we’re taking a deep dive into Sarah and John’s time in the pods, their shocking conversation, and whether they’re still together today.
Are Sarah and John still together?
Right now, Sarah and John are still going full steam ahead as their wedding day gets closer. However, on social media, John follows Sarah, but she does not follow him back. Sarah could be waiting for the season to end before becoming mutuals, but when it comes to reality TV romance, social media following is generally a pretty good indicator of a couple’s present-day status.
What happened between Sarah and John in the pods?
In the pods, Sarah and John’s relationship had a rocky start after she overheard him telling another cast member that he had just talked to one of his “bottom two” when he forgot to close his pod door. However, when she confronted him about the statement, he explained, “I, at first, was like, ‘I don’t know if she’s really into me at all.’ But then we talked again. Then, I had a great time. And that’s sort of the name of the game. And today, you were certainly not on the bottom of my list.”
Later, during Episode 2, John confessed that he had recently been diagnosed with MS (Multiple Sclerosis). He explained, “It just feels like I’m on the edge of a cliff of my body falling apart. Like, if I take a wrong step, something terrible’s gonna happen.” Then, the conversation shifted to his view that “capitalism is injected into healthcare” in America.
What did John say about vaccines and abortions?
After opening up about his MS diagnosis, John revealed, “I got COVID, and I was sick for a week, but then they’re like, ‘Well, you have to get this vaccine. You have to get it, or else you’re gonna lose your job.’ And they’re like, ‘Follow the science.’ And I’m like, ‘I did. I am. I have the natural immunity right now, and I feel like you’re forcing this down my throat a little bit.'” In response, Sarah told him, “I feel like recently medicine gets, like, a bad rap when it shouldn’t, you know? It’s incredible.
When Sarah asked him his stance on abortion, John claimed that he was pro-choice, but cited what Sarah called “misinformation.” He shared, “It’s a very sad thing. People will be like, ‘What about this girl who’s 11 and she’s pregnant by her uncle? She doesn’t deserve to have an abortion?’ It’s like, ‘Okay, that’s horrible. But why does that justify having an abortion at six months because you just never got around to it?”
Sarah shut him down, explaining, “I think the six-month thing, that’s where, from a healthcare perspective, I do think there’s a little misinformation as well. The amount of women who do it late-term just because, it’s almost non-existently low.”
After the episode dropped, John made his stance on these topics clear, posting on social media that he believes “in a woman’s right to choose” and is not “anti-vax.” He shared, “I love that so many of you recognize how wonderful Sarah is. We had an hour-long conversation about these topics that was condensed into about 45 seconds.”

What has Sarah said about their political conversation?
During an interview with Swooon, Sarah shared that she had similar conversations with all of the men who she talked to for more than a few dates. She explained, “Obviously, it looks like a shorter clip, but it was a very long conversation. He was very willing to listen. He was engaged in the conversation and asking questions.” Watch our full conversation with Sarah below!
