‘Love Is Blind’: All About Erika Ellis, Her Ex-Husband & More
This season of Love Is Blind, a certified homebody fell for a boat captain who spends most of the year abroad. Before we find out whether opposites can not only attract sight unseen, but make it last once they meet face-to-face, we’re taking a deep dive into Season 11 breakout star Erika Ellis’ life outside the show.
At the start of the season, Erika revealed that if she gets married this season, it will not be her first wedding. Looking back at her divorce and how it impacted what she is looking for today, the 37-year-old explained, “I looked at my first marriage like a business decision. I wanna get married again, so this go around, I am looking for love.”

Who is Love Is Blind‘s Erika Ellis?
When we first meet Erika, she shared, “I’m in marketing for a tech company in LA.” She added, “I live in Connecticut, and I have two dogs that I love, Stanley, because I got him the year the Bruins won the Stanley Cup. The other is Lily. They rescued her off the streets of Tijuana.”
Knowing the life she’s built with her pups in Connecticut is a major part of her life, she revealed to Netflix, “I love to host people, create fabulous experiences, pour some delicious wine, and get to know whoever’s around the table with me.”

Where is Erika from?
Before moving to Connecticut, Erika lived in San Diego for 10 years. She also lived in Carlsbad, where she opened a hard kombucha brewery called Local Roots. She attended Western New England University from 2008 to 2011, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in communication.
What is Erika’s job?
Per her LinkedIn, Erika is a senior marketing manager in lead generation at ServiceTitan, a Los Angeles based company. She works remotely from Connecticut, which allows her to travel frequently. Netflix revealed, “She visited 23 different cities in the last year alone and often extended her trips to feed her travel bug.”
Who is Erika’s ex-husband?
Right now, it’s not clear who Erika’s ex-husband is. However, she revealed in the pods that they met, got married, and divorced during her 10 years in San Diego. She told Blake, “I’ve been married before. I got married when I was living in San Diego. And I also got unmarried when I was living in San Diego, too.”
Later, she shared with viewers, “I used to think you can find a guy who has a good head on his shoulders, a good enough career, and family; you can make it work. And after going that route, I realized it’s just not enough.”
Did Erika get engaged in the pods?
In the pods, Erika immediately connected with yacht captain Blake Carver. While Blake was originally torn between Erika and Benita Paloja, who connected more with his nomadic lifestyle, he ultimately chose to propose to Erika after Benita left the experiment.
Netflix revealed ahead of the season, “While her place is located in a landlocked small town, Erika is grounded by the sea — probably because she has several water signs in her astrological chart, she says.” She said, “Truly, the ocean is calming to me. It’s just soothing on a different level.”
While Erika has started to question whether she’s truly game to join Blake on the high seas for months at a time, we have hope that she could like the boat life after all.
