Born and raised in Austin, Texas, Wallis Currie-Wood was drawn to the arts at a young age. She actively participated in her high school theater and music programs at Dripping Springs High School. The extra-curricular work paid off, as Currie-Wood was accepted into the prestigious Juilliard School in New York City where she was a stage performer in a number of the school's productions. Her first appearance on a TV show was as a series regular on "Madam Secretary" (CBS, 2014-). On the show, she played Stephanie 'Stevie' McCord, the eldest daughter of Secretary of State Elizabeth McCord, played by Téa Leoni. College-aged and looking for some direction, Stevie's personal life was the source of much tension in the McCord family, as she dated both the President's son, then her much older boss at an international microloan bank. If landing a series regular job as her first appearance wasn't enough, Currie-Wood was set to make her feature film debut in 2015 with two Oscar winners. Written and directed by Nancy Meyers, an Oscar nominee in her own right, "The Intern" (2015) starred Robert De Niro in the title role, as an intern at a company run by Anne Hathaway.
