Writer/producer Sascha Penn began his career in children's entertainment, producing "The Disney Channel Games" (Disney Channel, 2007), among other titles, for the eponymous television wing of Walt Disney Productions. With producing partner Skot Bright, he moved into music-oriented features and documentaries, co-producing "Dave Chappelle's Block Party" (2005), "Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers: Runnin' Down a Dream" (2007) and "Bee Gees: In Our Own Time" (2010), as well as the ABC Family drama series "Lincoln Heights" (2007-2009). In 2008, Penn/Bright Entertainment launched "Imagination Movers" (Disney Channel, 2008- ), a live-action music and comedy series based around the wildly popular New Orleans music act of the same name. Penn eventually established a solo career as a screenwriter and producer, penning a pilot for Jerry Bruckheimer and NBC called "The Secret Lives of Husbands and Wives" (2013) and serving as writer and executive producer on hip-hop artist 50 Cent's music industry drama "Power" (Starz, 2014). That same year, he also teamed with comedian Mike O'Malley for the critically praised comedy series "Survivor's Remorse" (Starz, 2014- ) as both writer and executive producer. Penn, whose name was attached to numerous feature film projects, including a remake of "The Idolmaker" (1980) with Justin Timberlake attached as the lead, appeared to land his first potential blockbuster with Paramount Pictures' "Bounty," a thriller vehicle for Will Smith as both star and producer.
