Michael Philippou

​Michael Philippou, born on November 13, 1992, in Adelaide, South Australia, is an Australian filmmaker, actor, and YouTuber. Alongside his twin brother, Danny Philippou, he co-created the YouTube channel "RackaRacka," renowned for its live-action horror-comedy videos that blend intense action sequences with dark humor. The channel has amassed over 6 million subscribers and more than 1 billion views.​

The Philippou brothers gained significant attention with their 2014 video "Harry Potter vs Star Wars," which garnered 7 million views within a week and earned them awards for Best Comedy and Best Overall at the Australian Online Video Awards. In 2015, they received the Streamy Award for Best International YouTube Channel. Their content is characterized by over-the-top violence and comedic elements, often featuring characters like Ronald McDonald in absurd and chaotic scenarios.​

Transitioning from YouTube to feature filmmaking, Michael and Danny made their directorial debut with the supernatural horror film "Talk to Me" in 2022. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2023 and received widespread acclaim for its innovative approach to the horror genre. Following this success, they directed "Bring Her Back," starring Sally Hawkins and Billy Barratt.
