Born in Aberdeenshire, Scotland in 1985, Amy Manson briefly studied at London's Central School of Speech and Drama before landing her first notable role, leading lady Jodie Hatfield, in horror sequel "Pumpkinhead: Blood Feud" (2007). Later that same year, she also played one of six students who come under attack in creature feature "Bloodmonkey" (2007), while in 2008 she landed the recurring roles of Torchwood Three employee Alice Guppy in timelord spinoff "Torchwood" (BBC Three, 2006-2011) and abuse victim Abby Evans in long-running medical soap "Casualty" (BBC One, 1986-). After portraying poet Dante Gabriel Rossetti's muse and wife Lizzie Siddal in period drama "Desperate Romantics" (BBC Two, 2011), Manson reunited with Aidan Turner to play vampiress Daisy in supernatural dramedy "Being Human" (BBC 2008-2013), showed up in "Agatha Christie's Marple: The Pale Horse" (2010) and was cast as Protection and Security officer Fleur Morgan in short-lived sci-fi "Outcasts" (BBC One, 2011). In 2014, Manson joined the fifth season cast of fairytale drama "Once Upon a Time" (ABC, 2011-18) as Scottish heroine Merida and went on to play sorceress Medea in mythological fantasy "Atlantis" (BBC One, 2013-15), appear in serial killer drama "The Chameleon" (2015) and take center stage as January, an amnesiac who returns to her family estate, in mystery thriller "Estranged" (2015). Following a cameo in Danny Boyle's long-awaited sequel "T2 Trainspotting" (2017), Manson further embraced her Scottish roots with her portrayal noblewoman Cathy Gordon in Tudor period miniseries "The White Princess" (Starz, 2017) and supporting roles in Scottish Highlands adventure "Edie" (2017) and Glaswegian coming-of-age "Beats" (2019). Manson then added to her filmography with drag racing tale "Run" (2019), intimate relationship drama "Real" (2019) and franchise reboot "Doom: Annihilation" (2019), starring in the latter as Lieutenant Joan Dark. Her prolific streak continued when she was cast as murderous gang leader Maladie in Joss Whedon's Victorian-era sci-fi "The Nevers" (HBO, 2020-).
