9 Worst Bravo Shows, Ranked

Bravo actually hailed this reality show as its “latest masterpiece,” in which seven young upstarts worked the NYC art scene and “the hottest events” in the city. Behind the PR spin, though, was just another show that prioritized cutthroat antics over female camaraderie, and there was nothing artful about it.

We miss the original RHONY Housewives as much as the next Bravo viewer, but bringing back Luann de Lesseps and Sonja Morgan for a Simple Life ripoff isn’t the comeback we wanted. (And the Schitt’s Creek-derivative title doesn’t even make sense — there is no Crappie Lake in Benton, Illinois!)

For as much fun as Caroline Manzo could be on The Real Housewives of New Jersey, her spinoff from the show was surprisingly boring. Watching the reality TV star put up with her boomeranging adult children might be fun for three episodes — maybe — but certainly not three seasons.

We’re sure some docuseries could sensitively and realistically convey women’s existences in the United Arab Emirates, but a Real Housewives show was never going to be it. With an ex-pat-heavy cast and verbiage about Dubai being a “billionaire’s playground,” RHOD made its superficial POV all too clear.

Bravo is really Vander-pumping The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ resident Brit for all she’s worth, and while Vanderpump Rules may rule, Villa does not. That the locale of this show is a rented château should be all the reason you need to look for a reality TV destination more entertaining than this cash grab.

The Below Deck universe started reaching new lows with this third spinoff. Not only did Sailing Yacht give us franchise fatigue, it also become mired in controversy around sexual misconduct allegations facing a cast member. It’s time for Bravo to sail on to more original ideas — and maybe more HR oversight.

One has to wonder if this show was developed as The Real Housewives of Long Island before Bravo execs realized it didn’t live up to the Housewives brand. Instead, we get an uninspired docuseries about six privileged women, a TV show in which diversity means having one brunette in an otherwise blond cast.

Bravo was not above body-negative weight-loss reality competitions à la The Biggest Loser. And the message with Thintervention, as with other shows of its ilk, is that to be thin is to be beautiful and vice versa. (From episode titles like “Big Fat Liar” and “The Fat & the Furious,” you can sense how shaming this show was.)

Bravo could have gotten props for airing a same-sex dating show way back in the early 2000s… if it weren’t for this show’s awful twist. Half the suitors were straight men hiding their heterosexuality and trying to woo the gay bachelor for a cash prize. That’s the kind of rug-pulling cruelty that only an inhumane reality TV producer could dream up.
