‘R.J. Decker’ Season 2 Premiere Photos: Sasheer Zamata, ‘DWTS’ Pros & a ‘Bachelor’ Guest

There are some familiar ABC faces appearing, and Detective Mel (Bevin Bru) is getting a blast from her past in the R.J. Decker Season 2 premiere. ABC has released photos teasing both.

The breezy drama returns on Tuesday, September 15, with quite the cliffhanger to address, and some of these images could hint at the fallout of that. When Season 1 ended, R.J. (Scott Speedman) successfully managed to keep himself from returning to prison and seemingly begin the takedown of corrupt politician Victor Ochoa (David Zayas), only for the latter to end up dead in the finale’s last moments. And this came just as R.J. and Victor’s daughter Emi (Jaina Lee Ortiz) seemed ready to move forward together…

Now, when Season 2 picks up with “The Point of Us Breaking,” ABC teases, “A reunion with an old prison acquaintance pulls R.J. into a string of daring bank heists as the fallout from Victor Ochoa’s death deepens.”

Sasheer Zamata guest stars as FBI Special Agent Melinda Winwood, who has a history with Mel. It “initially leaves her a bit buttoned-up and all business,” according to the character description. “Eventually, the two find common ground and do what they’re best at: solving a complex crime.”

Also appearing in the premiere are Dancing With the Stars pros Jenna Johnson, Val Chmerkovskiy and The Bachelor‘s Joey Graziadei, who won the Mirrorball in DWTS Season 33.
