Lifetime is raising the stakes with its newest docuseries Prison Brides, which is set to premiere Wednesday, January 10, 2024.

The show follows seven women from around the world who believe they’ve found their soulmates within the United States prison system. While they may have started as mere prison pen pals, these women have fallen hard and are finding themselves willing to risk everything for the sake of love.

The series will chronicle their travels from home to the United States where they’ll meet their prisoner fiancés, husbands, or partners for the first time with the hope of charting their futures together. As the couples face judgment from their families, friends, and even strangers, the brides grapple with the weight of their decision to invest in these inmates.

Will their choice to risk it all for true love pay off? Only time will tell, as these star-crossed lovers already have the odds stacked against them. In an exclusive first look, see their situations unfold in the teaser, above.

    There's this couple on there, Curtis and Emma. Curtis got busted for carjacking and fleeing the police. He is a known human trafficker in the Metro Detroit area. We're not talking about pimping women here. No, what he did was much more evil. He would engage in kidnapping, drugging, and solicitation of minors. The girl I know that was trafficked by him was 14 when she had the misfortune of meeting Curtis "Getta Dolla" last name unknown. He had a habit of doing this to several minors by the time she was taken by him. Lifetime is clearly a network that romanticizes human traffickers

    This is an excellent, classic example of Lifetime's bill of fare: women who make unusual and/or dangerous choices, with unusual and/or dangerous men.

    Omg no way! She seems so sweet and normal, I was surprised she was with someone in prison because it feels like she could easily get someone outside of prison lol

    one of the ladies on there, Olivia, is my dance teacher at school. I recently found out this news from a friend of mine and its spreading like a wildfire across our school. Once this gets out to everybody this might be embarrasing. But Olivia is a wonderful person so i respect her for who she loves.
