A few new faces are set to lead Peaky Blinders as the sequel series expands the world beyond the Shelby family, introducing a new generation of power players navigating the shifting criminal landscape in the wake of Tommy Shelby’s reign.

Jamie Bell will take over the role of Tommy Shelby’s son, Duke Shelby, which was originally played by Conrad Khan in the series and Barry Keoghan in the film. In addition to Bell, Stranger Things‘ Charlie Heaton will join the cast as well.

According to the official description, the series takes place in Britain in 1953: “After being heavily bombed in WWII, Birmingham is building a better future out of concrete and steel. What was Peaky Blinders about?

Created by Steven Knight, Peaky Blinders debuted on Netflix in 2013, introducing the world to the criminal mastermind known as Thomas “Tommy” Shelby, played by Cillian Murphy. Calculating and enigmatic, he was the leader of the Peaky Blinders, and for six seasons, audiences followed his antics as he and his boys evolved from a small-time street gang to a criminal empire.
