Seeing Josie follow her singing dreams

It’s hard to imagine Riverdale without Josie McCoy leading her cat ear-wearing girl group or soaking up solo moments in the spotlight. But when Katy Keene premieres this fall, we can’t wait to see Josie focus all her energy into music, instead of worrying about the Black Hood or a new twist in Gryphons & Gargoyles. This music star finally deserves to shine!

The friendship between Katy, Josie, Pepper and Jorge

Amidst all the craziness, Archie Comics shows are, at the heart, about friendship — whether fighting off serial killers together or navigating tricky career paths in a huge city — which is why we can’t wait to see the dynamic of this new group. If Riverdale’s core four has milkshakes at Pop’s, we can only imagine the type of exciting adventures and hangouts destined for the Katy Keene crew.

Potential Riverdale crossover cameos

Remember when Ben Button from Riverdale showed up as a pizza boy in Chilling Adventures of Sabrina? Well, we’re hoping for a lot more of that once Katy Keene — which takes place five years after Riverdale — debuts in the fall. With a near-future timeline in place and EP Michael Grassi teasing some cameos already, the possibilities are endless of who could crossover as their older self in the Katy Keene universe.

The CW

A lighter side to the Archie universe

Between the high murder and mystery rate on Riverdale and the dark ways of witchcraft on CAOS, we’re looking forward to seeing a more friendly and forgiving world in which to follow our favorite comic book characters. Already from the looks of it, Katy Keene is even more colorful and bright than any other Archie series, and it’s about time we got to see some fun, uplifting content to balance everything out.

The CW

Inspiring moments

This CW show will undoubtedly focus on the trials and tribulations of trying to make it in a big city, so we’re expecting to see some majorly moving storylines throughout the season. If the trailer is any indication, these four friends are in for the ride of their lives navigating friendship, romance and tricky career paths in the Big Apple. With Riverdale-level drama and heartbreak, Katy Keene is sure to give us a rousing portrayal of what it means to follow even your most ambitious dreams.
