Ready to meet the cast of the latest “true crime” story of Fargo?

FX announced the ensemble of actors joining Chris Rock in the fourth installment of its award-winning limited series on Thursday. Executive producer Noah Hawley and his production company 26 Keys lead the creative team, with Joel and Ethan Coen and Warren Littlefield also serving as executive producers. Production will begin in Chicago in the fall, and Hawley will direct the season premiere.

In 1950, at the end of two migrations — South Europeans from countries like Italy and African Americans who left the south to escape Jim Crow — to cities like New York and Chicago, the outsiders fought for a piece of the American dream. Two criminal syndicates, one Italian and one African American, struck an uneasy peace in Kansas City, Missouri, and control an alternate economy of exploitation, graft, and drugs.

To cement their peace, the heads of those families (one played by Rock) trade their youngest sons and raise their enemy’s child as their own. But when the head of the Kansas City mafia dies after a routine surgery, “everything changes,” according to the logline from FX. “It’s a story of immigration and assimilation, and the things we do for money. And as always, a story of basically decent people who are probably in over their heads. You know, Fargo.”
