    They can lose the Gabi character as far as I'm concerned. Sonny doesn't do much for me either. I like Victor & Maggie and Doug & Julie, neither of whom were pictured. JJ and Haley were beginning to grow on me and I love Patch & Kayla and Roman. C'mon TV Insider, the article does a disservice to the fans and the show. Maybe you should have posted who the fans think Days could do without!

      I hate Eve and her stupid revenge game on Jennifer and using Jack amnesia to get back her was childish behavior. I would have done without Eve in the picture. There is so many things can go for Jack amnesia and how he was suffering from PTSD and amnesia and his family just treated him like afterthought move on forward with their lives. I am sick hearing poor Jennifer routine deserves better. After Jack died saving Abby should have investigate his death or condition seeing how many times he came back from dead. Jennifer just moved quickly with Daniel. I am sick viewers painting Jennifer as innocent victim all the time. Jack should not be blamed for everything in their marriage falling apart. Jennifer got what coming to her this time from Jack not remember her especially after the Dannifer mess and she treated him badly.

    The show lost viewers because of bad stories, DID, Illegal alien, the triangle story was full of plot points, and boring, the same conversation over and over, they tried to push sarah/eric as an epic couple, when they had maybe 2 fans. way to much sarah, the propping and her being shoved down everyone's throat. Sarah's baby drama give me a break! She says Eric is wonderful, then lies to him about his baby? Nicole not telling him the truth when she knows how it feels not to be near your child, and she knows he loves her, neither woman would be keeping the baby a secret from Eric, but they are, it makes no sense, that is why the show lost viewers, and had record lows. At least with Xander, Sarah is a bit tolerable, but they are making him boring, I hope that stops. Fans miss the romance that days used to have. They need to stop with the drawn out stories, picking a few favorites and propping them over and over, while forgetting others, bring back the romance, stop changing characters that fans love, just to fit with one character/story you want to write.

    Well, all 8 of those have been on screen for the last year or so and the ratings have continued to decline, so I don't think the show needs these characters as much as the writer thinks it does! In my opinion, the ratings markedly declined after Shawn Christian and Kate Mansi left, then was replaced and the horrible storylines started: DID, illegal alien, Stefan & Vivian, Leo Stark, Jack & Eve etc! The writing is subpar, the stories repetitive, histories revised, criminals becoming romantic leads, and long-time characters being written "out of character"! I hope the "leap year" turns the show around. I would hate to lose a show that has been onscreen for 54 years!

      I blame the headwriter is responsible for this mess not characters or actors. I can't stand Daniel he ruined every woman in the show. I hated Jennifer with Daniel and killing Jack off prop Dannifer was worst. Jack is popular character that is needed and should never been killed off. I am sick of younger generation. Jack and Jennifer are important characters belong to the show just like John and Marlena and Steve and Kayla. Jack had suffered from PTSD and other complications and just drop everything and killed him off to prop Dannifer. I don't feel sorry for Jennifer this time around she has put Jack through ringer with all her men and perfection. Her drug addiction. Jennifer maybe a Horton but her mistakes need to be address as well. Stop being this smug reporter.

    Xander is a fan favorite because of his pairing with Sarah. SHE made us love him! Without her he's just another punk.

    Lol, they are showrunners right now, look at the ratings!! We need the Gina/Steveano arc over and to reunite Steve and Kayla. Fans didn't petition, shout at the moon for this. Watch ratings improve with this dumb arc is done & they reunite.

    Personally I can live without John. Drake Hogestyn is an awful actor who just play with his cufflink, squints and tilts his head to the side like a dog and says hey kid every other line. This isn't the 80s anymore. I am one of view "veteran viewers" who don't enjoy John and Marlena at all. Ben and Gabi are absolute musts on this show.

      I totally agree with you about John and marlena. Boring and neither one can act.I want to see more of the young adults like JJ and Ben. Xander is another character I like.

      Not a very smart bargaining ploy to essentially gamble your cast & risk losing well established fan favorites all because NBC wants a cheap out in contract negotiations.

      Tsk.. tsk.. tsk.. NBC..

      Whomever the "mastermind" is behind such nonsense should be dismissed themselves.. that will save you a buck or two NBC.

      NBC has nothing to do with the actors' contracts. Those are negotiated by Corday Productions. NBC pays Sony a fee to air the show.

    I think it is down right stupid to get rid of Paul, Victoria, Robert, Dedria and Camilla. I think Chandler and Freddie are good actors just don't like the storyline at all. Paul are you kidding he has the best that hit that show. I will definitely stop watching.

    Keep Gabi, Stephan, Abigail, Chad. Brady, Theresa, Nicole, Eric, Hope, Sarah, Ben, Ciara and Rafe...everyone else can go. New story lines are needed, quit recycling the same old story lines from the past. Absolutely do no bring back Eve, Julie, Doug, Jack, Marlena, Sonny, Will, Vivian, And Kristin DiMera they add nothing too the shows story lines. Very boring.

    ok Days in not being cancelled they are 8 months ahead in taping great. But fans have are to busy thinking of themselves, The Stars of Days of our lives need personal time has everyone forgot about the wildfires in California. Stop thinking of yourselves and think of others for a change.
