The Arrow frontman has been cast in Starz’s Heels, an “hourlong drama set in the outrageous world of independent professional wrestling,” according to Deadline.
Katie Cassidy (Laurel Lance/Black Canary/Black Siren)
Cassidy and two of her Arrow co-stars, Katherine McNamara (Mia Smoak) and Juliana Harkavy (Dinah Drake), are the stars of a female-led Arrow spinoff in development at The CW.
Paul Blackthorne (Quentin Lance)
Blackthorne will appear opposite Deadpool’s Morena Baccarin and Fringe’s John Noble in the in-development sci-fi comedy Home Invasion, “the story of two burglars who breaks into a house who find themselves face to face with an absurd close encounter,” per Variety.
Colton Haynes (Roy Harper/Arsenal)
Haynes is playing a “famous #instagay” in the AMC Studios project I Run Hot from Broad City stars Eliot and Ilana Glazer, per Deadline.
John Barrowman (Malcolm Merlyn/Dark Archer)
Barrowman is currently serving as a judge for the 12th season of Dancing on Ice, having competed on the British reality competition in 2006.
Josh Segarra (Adrian Chase/Prometheus/The Hood)
Segarra currently stars as RuPaul’s onscreen lover-turned-nemesis in the Netflix comedy-drama AJ and the Queen.
Ben Lewis (William Clayton)
Lewis is joining Dakota Johnson, Tracee Ellis Ross, and Ice Cube in the upcoming film Covers, “a comedy set among the talent, fame and fast-paced world of Hollywood’s music scene,” Deadline reports.
Katherine McNamara (Mia Smoak/Blackstar/Green Arrow)
In addition to her role in the proposed spinoff, McNamara has also been cast opposite Alexander Skarsgard and Whoopi Goldberg in CBS All Access’ limited series adaptation of the Stephen King book The Stand.
The Arrowverse will have to muddle along without its namesake: Arrow aired its series finale on January 28, ending a run of eight seasons and 170 episodes. The stars of the CW superhero drama are just getting started, though, and many have already booked new projects.
