Meet the ‘Among Us’ Characters & Cast (PHOTOS)
There are 11 crew members on board the spaceship when things kick off in Among Us, which premiered in full on Paramount+ Friday (June 5), but just how many can survive to the end is the biggest question of the 10-episode series.
The new animated adaptation of the video game of the same name leans on a bevy of stars to voice the array of quirky characters, and TV Insider caught up with some of them to find out how much these actors connected to their counterparts in the series.
Below, find side-by-side photos of all 11 Among Us characters and the actors voicing them, along with some exclusive quotes from stars Randall Park, Elijah Wood, Yvette Nicole Brown, and Kimiko Glenn.
Red: Randall Park
Red is the captain of the vessel who leads the crewmembers through the hapless mission-turned-murder-mystery. He’s voiced by Randall Park of Fresh Off the Boat and Always Be My Maybe fame. “I relate to Red a lot… He’s an insecure guy and also a people pleaser — those are defining characteristics of him, and definitely a part of who I am. I wouldn’t say all of me, but unlike him, I’m not able to put up such a brave front,” Randall Park told TV Insider of his character. “I mean, he tries, and it doesn’t work, but I’m more just chill, I would say. So in that sense, we’re different, but the core of who he is, I think, is something that I can relate to — I think we all can relate to — to a degree.”
Green: Elijah Wood
The fish out of water of the series is Green, an unpaid intern crewmember who’s a simpleton with a massive heart. “He’s very eager to please, very sweet, innocent, and just leaning into that as he’s around all these other people who kind of know what are their places,” Elijah Wood said of his character counterpart. “This is a guy that’s just wanting to find his place and be the best for everybody, and that’s a lot of fun to play with.”
Orange: Yvette Nicole Brown
The mouthpiece of the mission is Orange, played by Community favorite Yvette Nicole Brown. “I’d worked in corporate America before I became an actor, so I was very aware of HR, so I was able to tap into the joy and the horror of the experience,” the actress said.
Cyan: Kimiko Glenn
The gemologist crewmate with vibes is Cyan, and she’s portrayed by Orange Is the New Black alum Kimiko Glenn, who relates to her character’s earthy appeal. “I do feel connected to what she has to say, her emotional nature, her sensitivity. She’s just sort of in a different zone than everyone else, probably. I really feel like I relate to her,” she explained.
Blue: Dan Stevens
Blue is the doctor who makes everyone swoon and definitely does not know why his fellow travelers are being split in two. The character is voiced by The Guest and Legion star Dan Stevens.
Purple: Ashley Johnson
Purple is the chief of security and clearly not good at this job. Purple is voiced by Ashley Johnson, known for her work in the game The Last of Us (originating the role of Ellie), as well as The Avengers, and Blindspot fame.
White: Patton Oswalt
Comedian Patton Oswalt is the voice behind White, the contest winner who left a lavish life to join the mission.
Brown: Phil LaMarr
Brown is one of the cooks, voiced by MadTV and Futurama star Phil LaMarr.
Yellow: Debra Wilson
Also one of the cooks, Yellow is voiced by MadTV‘s Debra Wilson.
Lime: Wayne Knight
Seinfeld favorite Wayne Knight voices the character Lime, the engineer who has a sneaky side.
Black: Liv Hewson
Last, but not least, Black is the geologist who buddies up with Cyan. The character is voiced by Yellowjackets alum Liv Hewson.
