90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, Sundays, 8/7c, TLC
Cortney & Antonio, Season 1
Status: Split
Fans cringed as Cortney traveled from Orlando, Florida to Malaga, Spain to meet model Antonio, who frequently ignored her texts and advances. During the post-season Tell All, the couple revealed they were still trying to make it work long-distance, but ultimately Cortney broke it off since Antonio refused to commit. Antonio is currently working as an actor in Shanghai, and Cortney is traveling the world as a brand ambassador.
Sean & Abby, Season 1
Status: Split
Ohio native Sean, then 47, connected with Haitian Abby, then 20, on a dating site before traveling to Port-au-Prince to meet in person. Their relationship quickly fizzled after Sean realized Abby was still intimate friends with her ex-boyfriend. Today, Sean lists himself as “taken” on his Instagram page and seems to be running businesses in both the Dominican Republic and Haiti. Abby got engaged last March to her British boyfriend, Louis, and moved to England to plan her wedding.
Larry & Jenny, Season 1
Status: Married
Larry left it all Pinellas Park, Florida to meet Jenny in the Philippines. After Larry proposed, the happy couple wed in the U.S. in 2018. Their ceremony was captured on TLC Go’s 90 Day Fiancé: What Now? digital show.
Patrick & Myriam, Season 1
Status: Split
In an unprecedented scenario, MMA fighter Patrick flew from Miami, Florida to Paris, France in hopes to convince his crush Myriam to date him. Myriam was in fact actually dating somebody else, but didn’t tell Patrick until he already was in France. The duo never dated, so to say they split is almost an overstatement. Since the show, Patrick married his “best friend” Reneta, and the couple welcomed a son last June. Patrick is touring as a DJ and living with his family in Las Vegas, Nevada. Myriam is still based in Paris, and is working as a host for MTV France.
Paul & Karine, Seasons 1 and 2
Status: Married
Eccentric Paul ventured outside his comfort zone of Louisville, Kentucky to meet his love Karine in Tonantins, Brazil. The couple struggled through language barriers, financial trouble, and trust issues before getting married and welcoming son Pierre during the first season of spinoff show, 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way. Paul originally planned on living full-time in Brazil, but the new family has since moved back to the U.S. After Karine filed for divorce last year, the two have been working on their marital issues and remain married today.
Darcey & Jesse, Seasons 1 and 2
Status: Split
Despite Connecticut-based Darcey’s best attempts at getting an engagement ring from Netherlands native Jesse, the passionate couple had a dramatic falling out. Their rocky relationship was one of the 90 Day franchise’s best, and Jesse has since channeled his charismatic screen persona into being a life coach and entrepreneur. The iconic Darcey appeared on Before the 90 Days again with new beau Tom, and fans are looking forward to their second season together beginning this Sunday. Darcey also runs a fashion line and production company with her twin sister, Stacey, while raising her two teenage daughters.
Tarik & Hazel, Season 2
Status: Engaged
Tarik traveled to the Philippines to propose to Hazel in Season 2. While Tarik’s brother seemed skeptical over Hazel’s true intentions, the couple remain happily engaged and use the couple hashtag #TarZel to show their love on social media.
Rachel & Jon, Season 2
Status: Married
New Mexico-based Rachel met England native Jon on a karaoke app. The couple immediately bonded over their love of singing, and wed during Season 2 in a British countryside ceremony. Unfortunately due to complications over Jon’s criminal record, the visa process has been stalled, so both Rachel and Jon are living apart but their love for one another knows no bounds.
Marta & Daya, Season 2
Status: Split
Milwaukee-based exotic dancer Marta hoped to travel to Algeria to meet model Daya, but Daya never filed the correct paperwork to ensure Marta’s travel visa. The ill-fated online romance was chalked up to a possible catfish scheme by Daya.
Ricky & Ximena (& Melissa)
Single dad Ricky spent months talking online with Colombian girlfriend Melissa. However, after traveling to meet her, Melissa was at first a no-show…and then ghosted him after meeting once for drinks. Ricky was ready to fly back to the U.S., but a twist of fate (and his player mentality) led him to connect with another online love interest, Ximena. Ultimately Ricky proposed, but Ximena later called it quits after learning about his multiple affairs. Maybe this catfish was deserved!
Angela & Michael, Seasons 2 & 3
Status: Married
Angela and Michael wed in Nigeria during Season 7 of 90 Day Fiancé, so it’s only fitting that fans see what happened after their wedding bells rang. The couple is still in a long-distance relationship while waiting for Michael’s visa to be approved, but Angela still has her doubts about his faithfulness.
Avery & Omar, Season 3
Status: Married
Avery traveled with her mother to Lebanon to meet Syrian fiancé Omar. The couple were married last February in Lebanon, and Avery hopes to move to either to Dubai or Lebanon to be with Omar.
Benjamin & Akinyi, Season 3
Status: Married
Single dad Benjamin flew to Kenya to meet Akinyi in person before popping the question. According to Akinyi’s family customs, however, Benjamin was encouraged to wed on the spot. While their marriage is not legal in the U.S., the couple are happily still together and awaiting visa approval.
Rebecca & Zied, Season 3
Status: Engaged
Private detective Rebecca traveled to Tunis, Tunisia to be with boyfriend Zied. Despite her divorce not being finalized and Zied’s sister’s skepticism over the relationship, Zied proposed to Rebecca. Today, the couple is still very much in love and planning their wedding.
Timothy & Jennifer, Season 3
Status: Together?
Timothy was in awe of Colombian model Jennifer during Season 3, but the couple struggled with intimacy and communication during Timothy’s visit. Since the show aired, Jennifer has been linked to celebrity Diplo, and Timothy is appearing on Pillow Talk with his best friend and former fiancé, Veronica.
Caesar & Maria
Nail technician Caesar was head over heels for Ukrainian influencer Maria. After sending thousands of dollars to the blonde bombshell, Caesar bought her a plane ticket to meet him in Mexico for a beach vacation. She never showed. Maria reportedly tried to cut ties with Caesar, but during the Tell All reunion episode, Caesar admitted he was still sending her monthly funds. Maria, it turns out, is real, but her interest in Caesar was not. She even went on a date with 90 Day icon Darcey Silva’s ex Jesse Meester. Caesar has moved on, and even shared his romantic pursuits during the pandemic on Self-Quarantined. He’s still looking for younger women on dating apps, but this time he knows to video chat to vet a catfish first!
Darcey & Tom, Seasons 3 and 4
Status: Split
Darcey returned to Before the 90 Days with new boyfriend Tom, hailing from the U.K. Darcey traveled with Tom during Season 3, and the pair seemingly connected. Yet during a tumultuous Tell All episode involving Darcey’s ex Jesse, plus a cringeworthy confrontation on Season 4, the ill-fated couple have called it quits.
Usman & Lisa, Season 4
Status: Divorced
Usman wed his “baby girl” Lisa in Nigeria, despite their personality and culture clashes. After months of living apart, rapper Usman filed for divorce after blocking Lisa on social media.
Stephanie & Erika, Season 4
Status: Split
Stephanie risked her health traveling to meet Erika in Australia, but it was Erika in the end who risked her heart. After an emotional coming out to her parents, Erika didn’t feel as though she had the same support from Stephanie, and the couple struggled with jealousy and insecurity issues. They parted ways before Stephanie flew back to Yonkers, New York.
Varya Malina
Russian radio DJ Varya Malin promises that her 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days drama with fiancé Geoffrey Paschel was real. After Varya originally turned down Geoffrey’s proposal, she surprised him at his home in Knoxville, Tennessee, while Geoffrey was dating someone else. Varya described the tense scene of walking in on Geoffrey and his then-girlfriend Mary Wallace on her YouTube page. “Neither Geoffrey nor Mary were [wearing microphones] and nobody knew what was coming,” she opened up. “It was total surprise for all of us…It was crazy. I even looked back several times to ask the crew, ‘are you serious, guys? Did you just throw me under the train?”
Viewers took more issue with Geoffrey’s multiple arrests and allegations of domestic abuse. TLC has since parted ways with the controversial couple.
David & Lana, Season 4
Status: Engaged
Much to viewers’ surprise, Lana did in fact turn out to be a real person. David proposed to his dream woman, and she accepted. However during the Tell All, David said that they currently aren’t together at the moment, but still engaged. The details are fuzzy but we sure know that David is dedicated to being with Lana forever, no matter what it takes.
Ed & Rosemarie, Season 4
Status: Split
Ed visited Rosemarie in the Philippines with hopes to propose. Yet he quickly realized that they didn’t see eye to eye: Rosemarie wanted more children, and Ed wasn’t willing to compromise. Rosemarie broke up with Ed while at an island resort, and Ed traveled back to San Diego, California empty-handed.
Yolanda & Williams
It’s the most iconic catfish in 90 Day history! Nevada native Yolanda met the hunky man of her dreams on Instagram, but it turns out nothing about him was real. Yolanda’s long-distance love Williams listed Manchester, England, as his location, but a lack of video chatting and his accent raised more questions. Yolanda’s children even did a reverse image search on Williams’ shirtless pics, which turned out to be stock model photos. After a blackmail attempt, a deleted profile, and discovering Williams’ Nigerian phone number, a heartbroken Yolanda still wished faux beau Williams wasn’t a catfish.
Avery Warner
The Before the 90 Days star called it quits with controversial Australian beau Ash Naeck, but Avery Warner had more to say after the cameras stopped rolling. “I encourage everyone not to get so caught up with any kind of TV show as the truth,” Avery wrote to fans on Instagram. “It’s not worth it lol, it’s all very constructed.” Avery has since appeared on various 90 Day spinoffs.
