Prince, whose full name was Prince Rogers Nelson, was found dead at his Paisley Park compound in Chanhassen, Minnessota this morning, according to TMZ. The rock icon and music video pioneer was 57. He had been rushed to the hospital a few days ago with flu-like symptoms, but he had made a concert appearance the next day, so the cause of his death is unknown. His publicist confirmed his death to the Associated Press.

We’ll have more about his legacy, especially on MTV, later today. We’ll leave you with his a clip of his funny 2014 appearance on New Girl, where he guided Jess (Zooey Deschanel) and Nick (Jake Johnson) to tell each other their true feelings, in the most Prince-ian way possible.
