In the Terminator movies, Linda Hamilton played Sarah Connor, a damsel-in-distress who turned out to be a badass with finesse. It’s fitting then that the actress’ latest move is to host a docu-series for ID called Over My Dead Body, which tells the stories of women who have been attacked by men but ultimately came out on top.

The series, which blends interviews with reenactments, begins tonight with the story of Jennifer Livingston, a woman whose fairy tale romance with a man named Bruce turned out to be anything but. After he becomes abusive, she decides to leave. But when Bruce show up at her home, prepared to kill both her and himself, Jennifer’s going to have to channel, well, her inner Sarah Connor.
