AFI Tribute to Steve Martin

AFI Life Achievement Award: A Tribute to Steve Martin (Saturday, June 13, 10/9c, TBS)

He is one wild and crazy guy! There is no denying the significant impact Steve Martin has had on television and film during his decades-long career, from his fifteen stints as host of Saturday Night Live to classic comedies such as The Jerk and Father of the Bride. Tonight, the American Film Institute honors the comedian with the 43rd Life Achievement Award, and comedy superstars are out in full force to support their colleague. SNL vets Dan Aykroyd, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler all share hilarious stories about working with Martin in Studio 8H, while Martin's Three Amigos costar and real-life pal Martin Short reflects on their friendship. After the comprehensive walk down memory lane, legendary director Mel Brooks does the honors of presenting the actual award to Martin. It's a night full of laughs and appreciation for one of the most unique and distinctive voices comedy has ever seen.
