Degrassi finds a new home on Netflix
Netflix is rescuing yet another TV show, teaming with Canada’s Family Channel on 20 episodes of Degrassi: Next Class, which will debut in 2016. The new Degrassi will tell the stories of “the new post-millennial teen cohort known as Generation Z, most of whom weren’t even born when Degrassi returned in 2001,” says Degrassi co-creator and executive producer Linda Schuyler in a statement to EW. The Netflix pickup comes on the heels of last week’s announcement that the TeenNick series would end after 14 years.
