Andre Braugher has been showing off his comedic chops on Fox cop comedy Brooklyn Nine-Nine, but he started his career in 1989’s Oscar-nominated film Glory as Thomas Searles, the first volunteer in the Union’s first all-African American unit during the Civil War. Braugher gives a poignant new intro to the film (which won Denzel Washington his first Academy Award) in honor of Black History Month.
