ABC Midseason 2027 Premiere Dates: ‘High Potential,’ ‘Will Trent,’ ‘Idol’ & More Returns

Fortunately, fans of ABC shows won’t have to wait too long into the new year for their favorites to comeback from mid-season breaks or return after being off since last spring.

ABC has released its 2027 midseason schedule, and not only are shows like Will Trent, High Potential, The Bachelor, and American Idol returning, but the network will also be home to events including the Grammys, Super Bowl LXI, and the Oscars.

It begins with the returns of Will Trent and High Potential (which got the post-Super Bowl slot this year) on Tuesday, January 5. The previously announced The Rookie and The Rookie North will be joined by Shifting Gears on Wednesday, January 6. ABC’s Thursday night lineup — 9-1-1, 9-1-1: Nashville, and Grey’s Anatomy — returns on January 7.

A two-hour primetime anniversary special for American Idol‘s 25th will air on Monday, February 1. Then, the new season premieres one week later, on February 8, with Shark Tank moving nights to join it at 10/9c. The Bachelor returns on Sunday, March 21, at 8/7c, for its 30th season.

The Grey’s Anatomy spinoff, set in Texas, will now be part of ABC’s 2027-2028 season.
