Nation’s Dumbest took the nation by storm when it aired its first season on Fox over the summer. The game show was Fox’s most watched summer debut in four years and its highest-rated debut in three years.

With those stats, it makes sense that the network has renewed the show for a second season. “The smartest thing about Nation’s Dumbest is that it never forgot the assignment: to have universally relatable fun,” Michael Thorn, president of Fox Entertainment Network said in a statement.

The premise of Nation’s Dumbest involves putting celebrity contestants to the test with the goal of getting eliminated as soon as possible by succeeding in challenges and passing quizzes. “Winning is the last thing anyone wants” on this show, where the last one standing is the “dumbest” in the competition and officially declared the “nation’s dumbest.” Chase Hudson earned the title for Season 1.
